Detecting of npc dies of critical hit

Does anyone know if it’s possible to detect if an npc died from a critical hit. I know it’s possible to set it from the actor script, but detecting is another story.

 

ive tried checking dismemberment, checking the body for equipped ash piles, and even running an extra script that fires when they turn into ash via a magic effect, but none of these methods seem to work. Any help would be appreciated.
