weird mesh (not) present in the actual weapon mesh? (see picture)

There's this weird shotgun shell model inside of this custom gun. this gun uses Riot Shotgun's animation, 2hareloadi

Here the gun plays a jam animation. Notice how there's a misplaced shotgun shell inside the gun.

Here I took a look at the weapon .nif meshes and I see no shotgun shell in the weapon mesh. Is there something going on in the 2hareloadi jam animation?
