Jenlyn Fayre Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Greetings, everyone. I got Morrowind next week and this is my first time going through it. I am 35 years old and I"m a supervisor at my job. Or should I say "supervisor." I live in Buffalo, NY. No Buffalo-bashing comments, please, should you think of any. It may not be a Seattle or New York, but it's not all THAT bad. And no, we don't get 300" of snow every year. Southern New York gets 85% of the snow, not us. Anyoo, my first impressions of the game were excellent. The graphics are really amazing. The only thing I don't like so far is how complicated all the person and place names are. The names sound like something out of the Roman Empire and they are hard to remember. I also find a lot of citizens to be really rude, especially in Balmora where I am now. Sheesh. What a bunch of flaming jerks! Overall, though, I really like the game and I'm eager to explore every place I can find and kick as much butt as I can! I look forward to getting encouragement, advice and tips from everyone here. Thanks! My username is my character name. She is a Nord Crusader. I'll post in another thread about her when I get the chance. Nice to meet you all. edit: Please do not use all colored text like that, it makes it hard to read.-Peregrine

Malchik Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 Hi there from sleepy little England. Welcome, chill, have spam and don't fun. Er..... Good thing about Buffalo is that it's near to Canada! Level up on your personality and the NPC's will all love you. But watch out for the Bosmer, they get a bit too friendly for my liking. High-Pockets has followed me into Baldur's gate several times! Cheers!

t-leaves Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Hi there from Oregon USA. I'm 50 and a college instructor (computer technology). One of my students introduced me to morrowind. As I've said in other threads, all of RPG is new to me. I am old enough (that's for sure) to remember playing text-based Dungeon game. It had no graphics whatsoever. This was before windows... It wasn't that much fun really. My son played DnD games which interested me, but there wasn't time in my schedule for all that info to absorb. It is fascinating to consider what has grown out of that! Morrowind is fantastic! I have found this site to be THE source of mw info for me. I wish there was a place to ask some very very basic questions. Perhaps this is it. My character is a breton mage. I am considering starting all over with a new character that has diff skills, etc. I am also considering adding some mods when I do that; new faces, sounds and textures. I hope they don't introduce too much lag or any bugs. I am wondering about adding Tribunal and bloodmoon, but if they make the game more difficult or very different from mw, I'd rather wait until a bit later. Any advice?
