Crash with Francesco's

Hey people, i've got a problem with Francesco's Non leveled creatures and items. Whenever i load my game, i can only walk around for like a minute and then my game crashes to desktop. Is this problem happening because of a mod conflict? Or is it something else?

What other mods do you have installed?

What is your mod load order?

Have you tried any crash prevention mods with your game?

What I mean with my first question is: Does your game stop crashing when you remove Francesco's mod or do the crashes continue whether you have it installed or not?

 

The easiest way of getting you mod load order requires OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager). When OBMM is open, click on the "Inport/ Export" button. In the menu which appears, click on "view load order". Your load order will be shown. You can either copy the text and paste it into your next post or you can save the text then attach the saved document to that post.

If you don't have OBMM, you can use BOSS- Better Oblivion Sorting Software. Run the application. After some seconds, a text file will be displayed. You can either copy the text and paste it into your next post or you can save the text then attach the saved document to that post. Note that BOSS will modify your mod load order when you run it, but it is for the better and there will only be a problem if you have already used BOSS and modified your load order since then.

If this isn't possible, you may open Wrye Bash and then write down in what order your mods appear from top to bottom.

If you don't have OBMM, BOSS or Wrye Bash and you would rather not download them, open your Oblivion Data directory (usually C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data). Right-click in an open area. In the meny, go to "Arrange Icons By => Modified" Look for all the files that have the extension .esp or .esm and take note of what order they are in from top to bottom, left to right (files at the top are the oldest and bottom are newest). Then arrange the files on your paper so that .ESMs are before .ESPs and oldest to newest. You will now have your load order.

 

I should also probably ask for your PC's specifications. You may find these by clicking "Start button on taskbar => Run". In the box that appears, type (without quotes) "dxdiag". In the system tab of the window that appears, write down the information you see next to "Processor" and "Memory" in the "System Information" box. Then click on the "Display" tab. In the "Device" box, write down information next to "Name" and "Approx. Total Memory". You have now got your PC's (important) specifications.

 

I am currently creating a topic which will help people prevent general crashes and bugs from occuring. I am just finishing off the writing and it will be good to go. You may visit that topic and see if any of my suggestions there help you.

This helps a bit. I notice from your load order that you have "HouseMapMarkers.esp" and "HouseMapMarkersOnlyBought.esp" installed. You shouldn't have both of these installed at the same time. At best, you will have two map markers for each house. You should pick the one you want and remove the other. Otherwise, your load order might be a bit messed up. Have you tried using BOSS to sort out your load order?

 

You have an adequate PC and Oblivion is probably running fine on it. Your graphics settings are probably low or medium though. I would suggest you think of upgrading your PC if you want to play any of the games recently released or those released within the next year or two at playable frame rates.

 

Now on to your problem. When you remove Francesco's to test whether the game still crashes without it, do you just uncheck the mod in your mod list or do you completely delete the plugin and every data file installed by Francesco's? If you only need to uncheck the mod to stop the crashes, the problem is the plugin, in which case, the plugin may be corrupt or causing a conflict.

 

If you have to delete every file before the game stops crashing, the problem is one of Fran's data files.

 

If deactivating the plugin fixes the problem, try deactivating and uninstalling every mod you have except Francesco's, Jog_X_Mod, bookplacing and CM Partners (this will be easy if you use OBMM's Omod system. If you don't use omods, just uncheck the active plugins for now) and see if your game still crashes. If it doesn't crash this time, re-activate your mods a couple at a time until the crashes appear again. When this happens, you have found the mod(s) that conflict with Francesco's and you will have to either re-arrange the conflicting mods or remove Fran's or the problem mod.

 

If solution 1 doesn't help, try re-downloading Fran's and see if it makes any difference. Completely remove Fran's from your computer before installing the new copy.

Read my last paragraph. If Francesco's crashes your game when it your only active mod, it is a problem with the plugin itself. Try re-download Francesco's and see if this fixes the problem. Make sure you download a version which everyone says works properly and install it according to what the readme says. If this doesn't fix your problem, then you have run into a problem I don't know how to fix. You will then have to either ask for help elsewhere or play without Francesco's.

Well i tried redownloading the version i use, no one says there's a problem with it. But still it doesn't work. So i'll just play my game without Francesco's.
