Humanity needs to develop these technologies if we are to expand into the galaxy, we just need to take precautions. There are obvious ones such as limiting any machines control, and isolating systems to prevent hacking. But as we become more advanced we need to be aware of what many science fiction movies and shows have warned us of, the possibility of sentient machines. Any sign of independent thought outside of programming, any self awareness, a single hint of sentience and the machine and all relevant data need to be destroyed.
