How do you import a NIF into oblivion.

As a rule of thumb, even if you used the exact right combination and version of modeling app and NIFTools im-/export scripts with exactly the right settings, you should still run the resulting NIF through NifSkope for some necessary post-export sanitization magic.

It is very easy to mess the structure of a NIF file up beyond what the game can understand. Luckily it's most often fixable just as easily, if you know what you need to do.

So you imported an existing lowerbody NIF (was it clothing/armor or a bodypart from a body mod by the way?) into your modeling app (which one?), then changed something about it and exported it again into a NIF (how? which tools?)?

Some more details about the steps you took, and if all else fails a link to an upload of the NIF file causing the CTD, will definitely help.

Alright so the lowerbody NIF was a bodypart from the mod Room207 A4 Male Body Replacer, the modeling app that I used is Blender 2.93.2., and I imported the NIF file after installing NIFstools for blender. I started off by imported the model directly from the mod itself as a NIF, sculpt the model into the shape I wanted, and then exported back into a separate folder in which I sent to the _male folder to replace the original NIF. After that I just booted up the game and when I unequip the pants to see if everything was working properly, then game crashes.
