Yossarian22
Hi Some may wonder, why GTS is not available already over a Week. Well, I disabled it temporary, coz I reworked nearly all scripts of 1.5 and I really don't remember these scripts good, so I can't give much support for 1.5 anymore. That's why I thought it would be the Best to make GTS unavailable untill 2.0. 2.0 is still in work. The Problem is, there are a lot of new completly handmade Worldspaces in 2.0, what means a lot of work. All is mostly done, but I still find minor bugs like flying objects and the LODs also not yet show up like I want them to. Also the new Worldmaps are really time-consuming, coz I have to over brush the Coastlines of 7 high rez Worldmaps pixel by pixel to connect fine with the dirty water of the fallout world. But I think release could be in 1-2 weeks. Please be patient, it's worth the waiting. Here is a Overview of the Features you'll find in GTS 2.0:__________________________________________________________ FEATURES---------------- NEW FAST TRAVEL SYSTEM:----------------------------------------Replacement for the Fallout Fast Travel System. Now you can use a Highwayman, Motorcycle, Speedboat and a Fishing Cutter fortraveling around the entire World. In the Capital Wastelands you can use the Highwayman and Motorcycle for traveling or just usethe Vanilla Fast Travel without any Vehicles. This New Travel System has optional Fuel-Control, Distance-Time and Travelvideos. NEW WORLDMAPS:----------------------------7 High-Resolution World-Maps. America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the entire Earth. There is also a Replacement for theVanilla Wastelandmap available. These Maps can be used to create new Mods and Worldspaces in it. All custom created Placescan be visited with the new GTS Map Marker Fast Travel System. NEW WORLDSPACES AND UNIQUE LANDSCAPES:------------------------------------------------------------------------5 Coastline Landscapes as Entrancepoints to the new Continents. Each of them has an large Area to explore, Critters to fight andan unique Design to fit with the different Continents. They are all free to use as Modding Ressource for extend them or place therewhatever you like. RANDOM ENCOUNTERS:-----------------------------------2 new Random-Encounter-Landscapes. They have two Different Themes. Desert and Canyon. There you can meet more than 100Random-Encounters randomly choosen between all kinds of creatures and folks available in Fallout 3 in vary combinations, countand challange. Sometimes you'll meet harmless traders and wanderers, the other time Deadclaws, Raiders or even Behemoths,so be prepared for all. The Random-Encounter-Zones can be reached while using GTS Fast Travel by a Chance of around 20% orwhile driving around the Countryside without specific Destinations. This particular Option raises the Chance for entering one of theRandom-Encounter-Zones to 100% and can be used as often you like without any limits. PLAYER BASE AND BORDER REGION:------------------------------------------------------A large Vehicle Fleet Control Center as Player Base. It is adjusted for parking all your Vehicles there and has plenty more Options. You can customise this Base with a Selection of Roof-flags, Ingame-Display-Maps and Wallposter-Themes. Also there are manyof named Containers for your Holdings and if desired you can move your Bobblehead-Collectors-Stand together with all of your bythen collected Bobbleheads into this Base. The Vehicle Fleet Control Center is intended to be your Entrancepoint to the new GTS Worldmaps, but if you don't like it, you couldalways use a Border-Region Landscape instead. Both of these Places have a Terminal where you can enable and disable everyfeature and option of the Global Travel System. NEW QUESTLINE:-------------------------A entire new Questline leeds you trough all the new Landscapes and Features of the Global Travel System. It has the Vehicle Fleetas a Reward, that you could completly ignore once finished the Questline. This Quest doesn't has new Dialogues or a epic Storyline,it mostly is an Introduction of GTS. Pax1138
Awesome. A good idea taken to it's logical extreme. I'm really hoping this takes off once you release it and we end up having a whole world of interconnected mod locations. Or that the idea is snapped up by modders working on their own world projects to betterify their mods. Either way, I'm looking forward to adding my mod to the world map when it's done. -Pax
Rockatanskiy
I can't wait for the new GTS to take off! Any estimate as to when it might be finished?
Yossarian22
Well, this mostly depends how kind the LOD Generation and Navmesh Generation is to me. At the moment they still very unkind. The Rest of it is mostly finished. The Navmesh-Generation is still a big problem for me, coz it creates small navmeshboxholes all over the cell. If I really have to fix all those holes by hand.... ok better not think about it. LOD also has Hole-Problems... For no reason GECK is too stupid to create correct Waterlod in Cells, that are actually empty. So I need to create a small hill inside the water of every empty cell, that I want to have waterlod just to tell GECK that this cell isn't empty. But if you do this and reach a lod block count above 20, the creation of LOD takes 4-5 hours. What is complety insane, coz it only takes a few minutes below 20. Well, there are a few other problems with LOD, like clipping of LOD-Objects or LOD-Objects, that doesn't disappear and clip with the original objects... its all just a hassle. Also, my LOD-Pack has a size of around 100 mb now... Well, I could just forget about the LOD, but Landscapes without LOD just don't look right. As I said, I hope it's done in around 1-2 weeks. So, someday early march.
MrLexx2k
How is it going on? Any news on the progress or so? At the moment I am working on a GTS mod but I still use version 1.0 because it worked best for me.
Yossarian22
How is it going on? Any news on the progress or so? At the moment I am working on a GTS mod but I still use version 1.0 because it worked best for me. Well, there are a few things, that are a lot of work. Yesterday I finally got the Australia LOD done, witch was before a nearly impossible task coz of some sort of Bugs in LOD-Generation. Also, as said, I am still working on the new Worldmaps. Left is America and Europe, coz Canada and Scandinavia have a terrible amount of small fjords all over the coastline. You dont want imagine how much work it is to rework them with dirty water color. But here I have some pictures for you of some of the new locations: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/99671-1235564797.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/99671-1235564729.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/99671-1235564636.jpg

punxdog
Soooooooo much potential, unlimited replayability and exploration with this mod. Perhaps a tutorial on new lands might encourage others to make their own lands too [including me], obviously 'after' you get through your current developement phase. I'm looking forward to this mod's progression more than any other.
MrLexx2k
In the first release was a readme that explains pretty well what you have to do to add new lands to the mod. You should try this.
