stucked in angry facial expression

Greetings,

I searched the internet up and down, but I wasn't able to find a solution so far, or even someone who has the same problem...

So I decided to post it here, maybe someone knows this problem or can explain me how I might solve it .

After my char has taken damage after a fall, or when I look at defeated enemies, the facial expression of the char turns to angry.

So far so good, but my char keeps running around with this angry expression, it doesn't change to normal anymore.

I can only solve this so far by saving, exit game to main menu and load again.

Can this problem be caused by a mod I am running, maybe by a head-mesh or something? I don't really know anything about how modding works,

but if I remember correct, I had this problem even while I was playing so called Vanilla Oblivion.

Ok, it would be great if someone could help me.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dezdimona,

although I play a opportunistic-thiefish character my fame is higher then my infame.

This might be a result of the fact, that she prefers to be unseen at 'work' ;)

So this can't be the reason I think.

Sometimes I can end the 'frozen angry emotion' by changing my weapon...I have a different idle pose for different weapon-types. But that doesn't work very often.

Nevertheless, thanks for Your reply, have a nice day

I might have a solution. I've seen that problem in my game a few times but I have to go int 3rd person and then rotate the camera to see my character's expression so it isn't as irritating for me.

Anyway, for a possible solution, try moving your character away from whetever made him/ her angry. Then open the console by pressing the ~ key (it's usually between TAB and Esc and on the top left hand corner of your keyboard). Then type (without quotes) "player.pickIdle 1" and press enter. If an error message is written in the console when you press enter, then remove the 1. This might solve your problem but I'm not making any guarantees. I hope this solves your problem.

Hi.

I have the same problem also but i dont notice it that often. It would be nice to have the emotion reset automatically, but i guess it isnt a big enough problem as long as you can do so manually.

I use the "Actors in Emotions" mod by Trollf to set my facial expression if i want to take a screenshot or something.

It seems to want to load late but works like a charm. You also get to choose from a bunch of different facial expressions and can combine them as well.

The devs tried to make the PCs react naturally to their environment. Your character will be happiest in places like their guild halls where they are surrounded by friendly NPCs that like (high disposition) them. Your character doesn't have any places of refuge like that? No wonder they're always angry.

thank you for your replies,

@ XJDHDR : if I type this command in the console the whole body goes into idle-mode...and afterwards it is frozen in that idle-----> no weapon drawn animation anymore etc.

Maybe because im using the personality-idle-mod, I don't know, the facial expression doesn't change only the 'body-expression', but nevertheless thanks to you

@baduk : the 'Actors in Emotions' mod doesn't seem to function in my oblivion, I knew this mod already and tried it several times in the past...it never worked. I had the spells, and the orb with the menu, only my char always refused to do something :) ---->maybe due to mod-conflicts I never found out, but thank you anyway

@Dilvish : I may be a noob to mods and such things, but I am not that noobish ;) (no offense), but while my facial expression frozen, exactly the missing of this developed feature of the game, among others, drove me into open that post here. But thanks for your wise words :)

Resume: I opened this thread cause I had the hope there might be a clear and easy way out of my little 'dilemma', it is indeed no big deal and I will play the game nevertheless.

Oblivion is a complex game and with all this mods on the 'market' and installed no one should be wondering when some things turn out to react strange ingame.

regards
