Spartan0536 Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Hello everyone, I am currently leading a team for modding HL2 in co-operation the Firearms Source Team, as you can tell I have some experience and I really like the Fallout 3 world, it is a very good "canvas" to work with especially with the G.E.C.K. I want to join up with a few modders that have created some very nice,real,and authentic weapons,characters (NPC & Companion),Buildings, and Animators. My mod idea is based around 10 ideas/mods: 1. Realism (weapons, armour, history)2. Operation Anchorage DLC (uses some of the items from the official DLC)3. Woodrat's Military Base (where the action is based at)5. CRI Team Mod (to help with Acquireable AI Teams)6. The Phalanx Modules (to help with Acquireable AI Teams)7. MPAMMO & CALIBR (ammo support)8. AN ARESENAL of already relaesed weapons and re-textures (weapons support)9. Existing items in Falout 3 and the G.E.C.K. and any other modding tool used by modders for FO310. EVERYONE THAT DECIDES TO HELP ME WITH THIS EPIC MOD Woodrat wanted a small storyline/quest for his mod, and I believe I can offer that but it will requre a team to work together, I do plan on using CALIBR and MPAMMO but will try to work with the Authors of both to make sure any bugs and kinks are worked out and that this mod wil be compatible with as many other mods as possible. The weapons will all be real based starting at around the American Revolution (very few and rare weapons & ammo will be in this mod as they are antiquities), going through the American Civial War (Still few weapons and ammo will be found/acquired), World War 1 & World War 2 Combined (Some weapons were used extensively from WW1-WW2 and the weapons and ammo are easier to find and procure), the Vietnam War/Conflict (even more weapons and ammo can be found some on higher level enemies) and a compilation of Modern Weapons (1970's - 2020 with real modifications some including experimantal techs that are REAL EXPERIMENTALS and some for FALLOUT LORE). The Armour/Clothing will be along the same guidelines as the weapons and will have a story for each era that the player will get to experience :) Will also implement a personal broadcasting system for the player to put his/her own music into and listen (will NOT include songs as that would be copyright infringement), will implement a strike team and transportation system based around the CRI Team Mod (player can request squad assistance/reinforcement based upon support given {will be explained later in detail}, and can be airlifted/dropped with or without the support of his/her fireteam by a vertibird), Random generated missions that will have a 3 select mission dificulty (should increase re-playablility fourfold), equippable, intelligent, and commandable AI that actually is part of the mod and will stay until dead or uninstalled (based upon THE PHALANX MODULES), finally a small extra story based in the fallout 3 world and past histories (uses the Operation Anchorage DLC). The players base is Woodrats Military Bunker that will be added-on to adn improved to fit this mod. *IMPORTANT NOTICE: ALL OTHER DLC'S & MODS AUTHORS HAVE NOT AGREED TO HELP WITH THIS YET AND IS THE PURPOSE FOR THSI BROADCAST TO ENLIST THE HELP OF OR RIGHTS TO USE/MODIFY THEIR WORK, AS ALL WORK WILL BE GIVE FULL CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. **IMPORTANT QUESTION: CAN I USE SOME ITEMS FROM THE OPERATION ANCHORAGE DLC IN MY MOD WITHOUT INFRINGING ANY COPYRIGHTS? Callighan Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 I think you wont be infringing copyrights when if you use DLC content, as long as you do not package the meshes/sound/other assets into the uploaded version. Tubal Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 CALIBR should already have most of the calibers you need for this mod, although I'm not so sure about the Civil War/WW1 types. I will add any real-world calibers you need though. What will the mod actually be? A group combat simulation? Is it going to be an in-game 'game' like Anchorage? Spartan0536 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Share Posted February 22, 2009 It will feature an in-game game like anchorage to access the military base from Woodrat, and the base will be customizable and upgradeable like your houses (Tenpenny or Megaton), however the "simulation" will be different, you will go through certain era's of american war history to gain access to the base, then there will be random generated missions in the capitol wasteland after you finish upgrading and recruiting members and equipment for your base, with all the new armor and weapons plus the new "base" and random generated missions and mod support this mod should extend FAllout 3's gae time by a couple hundred hours at best (im hoping). IMagine taking off riding in the back of a vertibird with your team all decked out by you and instead of you landing at a point you airdrop or HALO Jump (High Altitude Low Opening) to the insertion point with your team, its like the opening mission of Crysis but in Fallout 3, now you get to tell your team mates what to do and setup mission planning prior to set their waypoints and behaviors prior to mission start (like in Rainbow Six) but you can tell them via netcom system in mission to adapt to the enemy AI movement. It will ultimately change the way Fallout 3 will be played and I will try ot add stuff to it as more official DLC and oter mods come out to help improve it. This will be an EPIC mod if it gets support. I will also try to implement a better dismemberment system and armor system. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Spartan0536 Posted February 23, 2009 Author Share Posted February 23, 2009 You are right it will be TONS OF WORK but I believe that if properly supported we can release one of the largest mods next to official DLC that may ever hit the F03 world. Also as work progresses the people who do work on it and thier work is theirs so the ycan release individuals with updates as desired so that people who dont want to play the mod to get stuff can get the individual files, its completely open, just like other mods the authors work is thiers they just make it and let me use it in a compiled mod with rights. Spartan0536 Posted February 27, 2009 Author Share Posted February 27, 2009 it has come to my attention that there is a similar mod to the one that I am trying to make with my Mod team, it is called MERC and can be downloaded here at Fallout3Nexus.com, it seems to be pretty cool with similar features, you may be asking why are you posting this in your mod thread? I simply want people to know that I am not trying to steal any of his/her ideas form that mod and that I had no idea that one like that existed. My mod will still be constructed and is in development as you read this, we are curretly adding real weapon models and sounds as well as getting the base programming in to make it work together. I am curently editing the CALIBER libraries to encompass more ammo types (perhaps if I learn enough I can make interchangeable ammo types for a single caliber :P ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
