Keppa
Has anyone thought what would have to be done if someone wants to make a "mod" which allows a companion controlled via internet? Of course it can't be done with GECK only. Needs some coding skills. And maybe there should be some limitations what a companion can do(for example can't trigger objectives. Dies when main player dies. This is a stupid way to handle this but at least it should be a working way to do it on games perspective). I'm thinking this and it's fairly small amount of data which should be sent via internet(save-file and each others actions) if both have fallout3 installed. Any thoughts on this subject would be appreciated.
pkleiss
I know a few people were working on this very idea many years ago. But as far as I know, nothing ever came of it. There was a youtube video where one fellow got two players over the internet on his custom made Fallout3 barren land. Again, I never saw anything that was remotely good enough to call multi-player. That said, if I am to understand Bethesda, the next version of Fallout will be multi-player. Then there is this: I don't know if its legit, but you can try it out. There is a link to the mod on the youtube page. Edited July 18, 2013 by pkleiss
GlitchGirl
This may be the type of thing you are looking for! http://www.vaultmp.com/showwiki.php?title=Download+binaries+source It's a multiplayer mod for FO3, I would assume much in the vein of the GTA multiplayer mod and some other game that is getting a multiplayer mod (forgot which, sorry :/) . That being said it had some sort of update in July so I would say it is active. The only thing though is that it does NOT support FO:NV, the reasoning as to why not can be found on the web page but it basically just says that it's becoming too much work to port over the changes made in one (FO3) to the other (FO:NV).
