AlastorBosch
I started playing FO3 fresh - no tweaks, add-ons or anything. I then installed the 1.1.0.35 patch followed by the Anchorage DLC. After this came a few player-made mods, namely Vance Suit, Dark Colonel Autumn's Coat, Steam Punk Pack, and a couple of the duster mods. I only actually found the clothing and gear for the Vance Suit and Steampunk mods, and they both exhibited the same strange behavior - they had no textures, or their textures mirrored whatever was nearest them. For instance, VSuit was on V's bed to begin with, and it looked like the bed. As I walked around wearing it, it shifted to look like floors or walls that I was close to. This is very strange... All the files were in their appropriate folders, I was using FOMM to turn on any mods that needed it (listed below the FO3 ESM), and made certain to add any and all necessary text to the archive invalidation text file. Any thoughts? Edit - Since making the post, I tried another mod which tweaked weapon sounds/textures/misc qualities - again the proper textures were nonexistent; the weapons appeared as a bleached white shade or changed colors randomly. Normally I would suspect that somewhere, a folder or file name is misspelled, but that's not the case - and...it's only the modded weapons/clothes whose textures are broken. Everything else is fine. *headscratches*

I'm no modder, and really have no interest in becoming one. I'd just like to know why the mods don't work when the game hasn't been edited in any way. Almost makes mods worthless for the game (And my copy of Oblivion had no such issues as these). Edit - I just downloaded Quazzy/Qarn's Archive Invalidation program, and so far, things seem to be working fine.
