Odd body/skin glitch. Females look like burn victims

Hey guys, I'm having a pretty weird texture glitch with my female player and NPCs. It seems like the body is randomly getting replaced with something else, but I can't quite put my finger on what's causing it. Hopefully you can help me out before I decide to do a clean install.

 

Now, it isn't a constant. If I unequip then re-equip the main piece of clothing, it will reset with my normal installed body. I can replicate it fairly consistently, meaning if everything looks fine I can unequip and re-equip and it goes back to the glitched body. Repeat again and it goes back to what it should be. It also appears to only affect whole-body, vanilla pieces of clothing/armor. I haven't gotten it to replicate while wearing downloaded armor that has sepparate pieces for upper body, lower body, etc., although I haven't extensively tested it yet.

 

As for the female body replacer, I'm using the UNP Replacer Configuration Package with the UNPB Base, UNP Fitness, Sweaty Body, and No More Bronze Shine options.

 

Now, I'm going to assume this is probably due to old/loose texture files I have swimming around in my data folder from past mods, but I'd just like to see what you guys think, as well. I appreciate any input you all have.

Does this happen with all races, or just a few?

 

Include tests on khajiit and argonians as well, they sometimes get exempt from these things, and it may be important whether or not it effects them.

 

Aside from those questions, here's a few more: Have you tried a new save, to see if it is just your save or not, and have you tried removing UNP to see if it persists without it?

I can't be much help but I have read about this. It has something to do with clothing or armor involving Ashara I think, or whoever the lead female is in the Dark Brotherhood. Sorry, it is a vague clue. Perhaps google the issue.

I have tried multiple new saves, only using Breton race though. I'll try it with some other races, as well as turning off UNP and report back.

You know, now that you mention it, it does look a little like Astrid's charred body. Might have something to do with the Better Dark Brotherhood mod I have installed. I might try a clean save with that turned off and see what happens.

That's exactly what's happening in my game. I'm using the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod, and in the starting room where you just have rags, I can't trigger the body glitch. Once I get into the game and arrive in Riverwood, it starts happening.

It only happens while wearing clothes.

If it only happens while wearing clothes, why not actually take the time to wear some armor, or robes? "Clothes" tend to leave exposed skin, but robes are an exception, and armor tends to cover you completely anyways.

 

Alternatively, a couple of the hoods drop down to cover the exposed upperchest.

Changing the clothes doesn't fix the issue however. It just covers it up.

 

Might I suggest going through and trying to remember when it started. You could have installed a mod during that time. Make sure you save when the body looks normal. Then start disabling a few mods during the time period that it started.
