Maldruzard
Hey there! (Hope this is the correct place to post this!) I have recently started modding with the creation kit that comes with Skyrim, and I'm having great fun doing so! However, I've run into a few bumps along the way, and a few searches on Google and this website didn't bring me any relevant solutions. So hopefully y'all can help me out, if you can! Problem Numero Uno: The Buggy Sarcophagus Lid! So I've been trying to set up a few of the classic ol' Draugr ambushes (because I am a unique little butterfly) and I've come into a wee hitch: the lid that pops off the sarcophagus the beast comes out of completely bugs out anything (including me) that tries to walk over it. By bugs out, I mean prevents both NPCs and the player character from walking over it, teleports them up and down and all around the nearby area. Kinda ruins the atmosphere if I do say so myself. Never noticed anything like that with the vanilla Draugr ambush sarcophagus lids, so I am perplexed! Strangely enough, when I tried to fraps the bug, it immediately stops. Every. Time. I'm not sure if its something to do with the F6 button (my fraps key) or fraps itself, it just stops the bug. Obviously not the fix I'm looking for if I'm going to release the mod at some point in the future, though :( Edit: Upon further inspection, its definitely fraps that seems to temporarily fix it and not just the f6 key... WAT!? Edit2: Upon even FURRRTHER inspection, it appears to happen with some/most vanilla Draugr ambush coffins now.... I am very confused! I have verified Skyrims files twice, uninstalled all of my other mods, etc... no idea why this is happening! New update causing it? :( Problem Zwei: NPC spawn location issues/trap issues! Kinda ties in with the same Draugr ambushes mentioned above: when I COC from the main menu to test my dungeon, all of the NPCs spawn fine in their places, such as bandits in their chairs, the undead in their cosy coffins, and all of the traps work just dandy. However, when I load up a normal character to try out the dungeon as a whole, this is not the case. When my level 11 dark elf (hardcore, amiright) enters the dungeon, some of the NPCs that are meant to be in chairs, coffins, etc, are just standing next to said furniture, and my pressure plate traps don't seem to work. What gives, yo!? Problem the Third: Navmesh: No specific problem, I just hate it so much. WHY, BETHESDA, WHYYYYYYY Thank you for reading this! If you have any information at all that could help me with any of these issues, please leave a reply to help me! Cheers in advance, Maldruzard. Skayrum
Hey i've been having troubles with creation kit to. Here's some advice that may help. 1. Navmesh- If you're using a laptop, get a mouse. It will save your life. The Keyboard shortcut CTRL-F will also drop all highlighted vertices to the ground which will help avoid floating navmesh. 2.Just so i'm clear when you use the coc command to get to your dungeon everything's fine, but when you enter it normally some of the npcs are standing next to the furniture. What happened to me was the opposite, when i used coc my dragon priest just stood outside its coffin, but when i hooked it up to the world everything worked fine. 3. Finally for your buggy sarcophagus lid try, moving it up or down. It may be its to deep in the floor or to far above the floor. - Note: There is a software called TES5EDIT that can help clean up mods. It is still in the expiremental stage however. Heres the link for download: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859/? paholainen90
sorry, can't help with your questions, except yea, navmesh sucks. But can i complain too? So, after i've made a house in CK and move it in the game, when i travel there the door of the house is named "unowned cell". For example: pointing the door gives "press e to open unowned cell". How can i change this? I did name the save in CK but it didn't seem to carry over in the game.Any help please? Thank you guys in advance :)

But for everyone out there, who also got this problem. This is caused by: too much Frames Per Second(FPS)! Yes, you read right! You have too much frames. That's also why it works with fraps. because fraps reduces the frames to 30 i guess while capturing. Its a problem with the engine. I had the same problem. When running with more than 80 frames you get those little glitches. So what to do now? Answer: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6143/? Had this problem now for some days... and this night it jumped into my face. No Fraps = Bugs; Fraps = No Bugs. So dont play Skyrim with more than 80 frames, otherwise Tamriel will go wildA nice video showing skyrim with 250 frames: Edited September 17, 2014 by Zzyxzz
