TheMVB
Two days ago I was playing a modded New Vegas and loving it. I had the Revamped Wasteland, Niner, Companion sandbox, Bounties 1, no stutter and various other little tweeks.Yesterday I tried to install a few new mods, such as Delilah, EVE, Return of the Eyebots, Classic Fallout Weapons and the Courier's Cache and when I tried to load my save I got a message to the effect of (and I'm paraphrasing); 'this save is reliant on information that is no longer accessible, continue anyway?' I could not log in.I tried uninstalling the mods - it didn't work. I tried installing FOOK at the recommendation of a friend who said it fixed a lot of his problems - couldn't load. I tried starting a new game and it worked kind of, I could see a large red polygon shape behind the Doctor and when I got outside into Goodsprings, it seemed that most of the people had these large ghostly red-ish polygonal shapes jutting out of them. Obviously, I can't play it like that. I tried uninstalling all of the mods and loading a game vanilla-style and that wouldn't even load at all.Does anybody have any recommendations? Dragonmourne
Is the red "polygon" a giant red triangle with an error icon in the middle? Which wouldn't be right since that usually only pertains to objects... In any case, have you used Archiveinvalidation? Did you check to make sure that the meshes and textures are placed in the right folders? Sometimes even uninstalling mods doesn't catch everything, and junk files (textures/meshes/.esm.esp files) sometimes get left over. You may have to uninstall and delete the root folders completely, then do a clean re-installation. I also find that sometimes verifying cache through Steam fixes missing files from vanilla. TheMVB
It's emminently plausible in hindsight that those could have been big triangles, but I didn't see an error message. I'll try this and see if it fixes things.Edit: the first place I saw the red shape was superimposed over one of the supply boxes in the Doctor's office. Outside I saw it imposed over some of the Goodsprings people, although they might have been installed as parts of some mod I was running at the time. Maybe they were custom NPCs with the properties of objects? Edited July 23, 2013 by TheMVB
TheMVB
I wound up having to delete all of the files and reinstall the game itself just to play it again. I re-added my mods and tried to load my saves, but the only one I could load was from back before I started modding. None of my old modded saves would work. I guess I'll just pick up from there. At least I'm only losing about 15 hours of play and not everything.
