Animal Instincts

Hello interested modder!! :smile:

I have been searching for a mod on the nexus forum for a while now and I couldn't find anything that matches what I have in my head.
So I thought to myself, why not make one myself? :tongue:
Sadly enough I have no experience with modding and I can't seem to figure out how to start my mod :sad:
Anyways, here's what i had in mind;

A mod that let's you get some sort of wildling/animal instincts by completing actions in the wilderness.
I would love something like that to play together with mods like Frostfall: Hypothermia and all sorts of creature adding mods to get a truly immersive experience.
So the things I had in mind are:


1. Activation: The mod will be activated once you eat a piece of raw meat. (Can also be activated or deactivated by mod configuration menu)

2. New skill tree: A skill tree called 'Animal Senses' or something like that.

1. Progression: Have it progress a bit everytime you kill a forsworn, or a wild violent animal like bears, wolves,sabre cats, etc...
Have it progress everytime you skin a wild non violent animal like deers, rabbits, foxes, etc...
Have it progress by fighting unarmed (claws)

2. Skills:

1. Wild sense: Being able to sense enemies from a distance, in a way like seeïng a vague red trail leading towards them (like an animal smells
scent). The more points invested, the higher the sensing radius.

2. Claws: Getting bonus damage from unarmed combat. The more points invested, the higher the damage output. When this skill is fully
maxed out you get the 'Hone Claws' power mentioned in 3.1.

3. Regeneration: Health and stamina regeneration increase. The more points invested, the higher the regeneration rate.

4. Sprint: Sprinting spead increases, while maintainig stamina consumption. The more points invested, the faster you sprint.

5. Leap: Jumping distance increases (not height). The more points invested, the further you can leap.

 

6. Unencumbered: Fighting without armour increases your attack speed. The more points invested, the higher the attack speed

 

7. Roughskin: Increase in defense rating while not wearing armour. The more points invested, the higher the defense rating.

 

3. Powers: New powers complementing your wild nature

 

1.Hone Claws: Once per day you can hone your claws, giving you 25% extra unarmed damage for 180 seconds.

 

 

4. Player Home: Some sort of rockformation shaped like a tent or an overhanging rock, with a bedroll, campfire and cooking pot in or under it.

 

5. Animations: It would be really sweet if some animations and models could be incorporated, but that is a concern for later.

Of course I am willing to help out as much as I can, and I am also willing to learn about modding in order to do so. If you have more idea's on this project or if you have some feedback on some of the things I requested, like if something can't be done or so just let me know. Thanks :D

I would like to do it but I'm a beginner as well. Maybe as I get more experience I will give it a go. It's officially on my to-do list

Thanks man, it's something I guess :p

I wish I could be better at these sort of things so I could do it myself but I guess it's for me :s
