dubiousintent
Are you using a "mod manager" to install the mods? The "green install button" on the Nexus site is used with "Nexus Mod Manager" only. If you are using a different "mod manager" then you need to use the "manual download" method. Please see the 'Mod Managers' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article which has links to tutorials on each of the four major "mod managers" used with FNV. You should read the entire article, as it has much more information you need to know. -Dubious-
WildGhost24
can someone tell me what folder body mods go to
dubiousintent
can someone tell me what folder body mods go to In very general terms they go into "Data\meshes" and "Data\textures". But different mods include various things. Normally the mod creator has packaged the archive with everything in the appropriate folders so all you need to do is install it with a mod manager like NMM and allow it to overwrite files as needed. But that is so obvious, I feel there has to be more behind your question than that. Would you care to expand a bit and perhaps we can provide more specific help? -Dubious-
DBucks
I got stuck at the 4gb extender. It downloaded fine but i get a "the system cannot find the file specified" error, and the authors page doesn't address this.
dubiousintent
Need more detail. Did you install Steam to it's default location? If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" folder tree is bad and "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. Recently there has been a updated replacement for FNV4GB called FNV 4GB Patcher, which is simpler to install. (Run the patcher once as "Administrator" and thereafter just use the default game or Steam Launcher as a normal user. It automatically detects and launches NVSE if that is installed properly.) It is co-authored and recommended by part of the "4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated" team. If that is not enough to resolve your problem, please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. -Dubious-
wfandrews
What is a virgin copy???Merely deleting the local files from Steam and then downloading the game does not give you a "virgin" copy of the game. Steam saves a number of files in its cloud save which are re-downloaded with your installation of a new game. Also deleting local files with Steam does not delete all the roaming app data and registry files that are created when you download and then play the game. There are a number of different tutorials as to how you can create a fresh copy of FNV, do not know exactly where to find them but if you google them you can find them. When I was playing FNV through Steam I had my own way to create a "virgin" copy of FNV which involved Revo uninstaller but as I have switched solely to the GOG v of FNV it is a much simpler process. dubiousintent
Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article for various ways to get back to the original "vanilla" version of the game, including a "virgin copy". And you can disable the "cloud" sync in the Steam Client. That only backs up your "save game" files, which are under your "Users" folder and not affected by any of the restore to vanilla processes including creating a new "virgin copy". But you can always rename that folder before and restore it afterwards. -Dubious- Edited September 5, 2017 by dubiousintent
weegeeslayer101
I'm having trouble archiving the script extender. Can anyone give me a walkthrough?
dubiousintent
There are actually several "script extenders", but assuming you mean NVSE: Please see 'Checklist Item #4' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. OTOH "archiving" usually means "packaging into an archive". That is a different topic. If that is what you meant, then you need to provide more detail and it should be in it's own thread under "Technical Support" as it's "off-topic" to this one. -Dubious-
