Sound Glitch

I've been playing Oblivion since it came out. I recently got a new computer and have been playing it on that. I had the well known Nvidia Black Screen Bug (sneaking only) and the available fix required OBSE. I tried using OBSE and OBMM before but they tended to cause more problems with oblivion. I installed both and I run the game using OBSE so that I can use the bug fix. Now whenever I use a weapon or a spell, there is this loud sound glitch. It sounds like the sound is being played multiple times a second and sometimes it will continue for up to 30 seconds. This didn't happen until I installed OBMM and OBSE and activated the Nvidia bug fix. I've also noticed that in the DATA folder, there are 6 foders that are listed as Bethesda Archive Files. I assume that those were included with either the Official Patch or the Unnoficial patch. I obtained both of these through TESNEXUS within this month. If I move the file named sound, all of the sound effects go away, it fixes the sound glitch but the game is like a silent movie. Has anyone encountered this before and can anyone help me?

System:

NVIDIA GeForce Go 9600M-GT 512MB

Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5800 2.0GHz

4GB PC6400 DDR2-800 SODIMM Memory

I have also had problems where during load screens or menus there is a short blip, (the screen goes black for a single fram) that is barely noticeable and then I cannot do anything. I have a feeling this may be due to background programs or network notifications. Can anyone tell me a way to turn those off while I'm playing the game?

Sometimes integrated sound systems cause strange problems. Be sure you have the latest drivers.

It could be caused by a mod. A list of mods in load order would be helpful - the data list of mods is not in load order. however, OBMM makes it easy to get the load order and to post it here.

I have seen many complaints about OBSE causing problems. Almost every one came down to not installing right or a particular mod that gave the problem only when a mod that required OBSE was present. By not using OBSE, that mod no longer worked and thus no longer conflicted with the other mod. Repeat: OBSE rarely causes a problem, however mods that require OBSE can cause problems just like any other mod.

OBSE must be started using an OBSE launcher before Oblivion is started. When OBSE is started, it automatically starts Oblivion. There are several launchers available as mods if you don't like the one that comes with OBSE. Also, the Launch Oblivion function built into OBMM will automatically launch OBSE if it is present.

There are 6 (unnamed) oblivion archive files? what are they? are they the .bsa files? if so, they must be there for some things to work in the game.

You will need OBMM to get a proper load order, and to change that load order if needed. OBMM rarely actually causes problems because it runs and ends before the game starts and does not actually enter the game at all. Once you have set your load order using OBMM, you can exit OBMM. Then start the game and the new load order will be there. And OBMM is not running, not even in the background. The load order will remain until you install another mod even if you do not run OBMM again.

A fix for the black screen is to turn off both AA and HDR. but it makes your game look flat. The black screen fix doesn't always work, especially in mods, but it's the best thing we have until Nvidia fixes the problem. If you run into a situation where the bug always happens, try making a save just before the place where it goes black. then turn off both AA and HDR, then try it. If you succeed, make another save just after that location, and turn the AA and/or HDR back on and proceed.
