it was an older post on a closed thread but google stumbled across it and i had to read it. some stem user was ranting about how the new vegas brotherhood of steel was and i quote "The brotherhood had become much of a disapointment in this game, they no longer help people and are hated by everyone. how did this happen? why did they just all of a sudden drop off the radar and why were this bunch so close minded and hatefull twords outsiders? was this a rouge group or has the brotherhood changed over the years and why did they downgrade to the older t51b armor?" After reading that i wanted to go through the monitor and smack the idiot for that post. #1 the DC Chapter was the Rouge Faction not the mojave chapter. #2 the war was simple....Technology NCR had it and brotherhood wanted it. #3 "why did they downgrade to the Older T51B?" That right there threw me for a loop, T51B was the newer armor and a western BOS icon as fallout 1 & 2 had T51b. T45D was (as far as i know) A bethesda armor idea (i am not 100% sure on that as i have never played 1 or 2 but also never heard of T45 before fallout 3) the Ignorance of some gamers stuns me. how can you say you love a series if you never took time to learn about the previous games and Lore. sorry if it sounds like a crazy rant but hey that really bent me out of shape.

Well the first two games are pretty old so I'm not surprised that people haven't gone through them enough to know how the BOS originally were...though we DO have a wiki for that sort of thing. I do agree with you though, I don't see why you're gonna complain about something that's already been established in canon, like the DC BoS being the rogue faction that has lost all ties with the California BoS which to me is much more realistic on what would happen in that kind of situation.

For your information, the T-45d PA was an older PA model, the first to be successfully deployed. It was only used for the troops in Alaska and most reside in DC, unlike in the Core region where the T-51b is favoured.

Come to think of it, some of Bethesda's additions to the lore (mostly regarding weapons and armor) have some credible back story which actually do fit in with the original Fallout canon. My best definition is a set of generally accepted events and details which are officially considered part of the game's universe. So most main events of Tactics is supported but some minor details contradict Fallout canon. However, it's salvageable. Much like Fallout 3 if you disregard MSZ completely, although being made by Bethesda, it's technically canon despite its many inconsistencies.

I have no issues with people who love Fallout 3 and its setting, but I agree on ignorance.

oh i agree compleatly and im familiar with the backstory of T45d i was simply pointing out that i had never heard mention of it before Fallout 3 Made it common. and To be honest Fallout 3 is my most favorite game of all time, i love the setting and world i enjoyed the story the only issue i have with the game was only discovered on release of New Vegas. New Vegas had alot better weapon system than Fallout 3 and has factions reputation. i wish Fallout 3 had it but i do realize that they had Little chance to impliment factions as there were only two of intrest (Brotherhood and Enclave) and they were warring factions.

Sorry about that, I just misread your post. My reading comprehension is usually acceptable unless I'm tired.

I agree with the rest of your post, though I prefer New Vegas. The faction system in New Vegas and Fallout 2 is fantastic and I hope Bethesda bring it back in Fallout 4.
