wolfpack91 Posted July 26, 2013 Share Posted July 26, 2013 just installed the steam version of fallout 3 i have no dlc no mods and fully updated it starts fine i hit new game and it goes to a loading screen then crashes to desktop. i am running windows 7 home premiumand my hardware stats are at least twice what the game requires Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
pkleiss Posted July 26, 2013 Share Posted July 26, 2013 Things to try: 1) Run the game as administrator (or install as such)2) Try setting your settings to low - I know, your rig can handle higher settings, but just try it so you can, at least, eliminate that as a possible issue.3) Reinstall to a folder NOT in Program Files4) Try running the game in XP compatibility mode (this is probably groping at straws)5) Return the steam version and find yourself a retail CD.
