Trouble with Elves of Lineage II mod

I have been all over this forum and have googled for the answer to this question. There are other sites where people have posted the same question without an answer. I want to use the Elves of Lineage II mod, which requires me to use Ren's Hair mod. She is not very good at including a text file on how to achieve this. Now I know these go into the Data folder, but under Data>Meshes >Characters I have these current files (_1stPerson, _male, Hair, and Ren). In the Ren folder I have an Eyes folder, a Hair folder and a Head folder. In the Hair folder I see .nif files. Can I assume (I hate that word) that the zip file with the .nif files goes here? In the Data>Textures>Characters folder I have argonian, darkelf, dremora, hair, imperial, khajiit, orc, Lineage, Ren. In the Ren folder I have Eyes and Hair. That folder contains DDS files. It seems to me going through other files under Textures, that they all contain DDS files. That leads to the question of where do the .egm files go? I do see under Data>Meshes>Characters>Ren>Head some .egm files but they are for heads not hair. In fact that folder also contains .nif, .tri, and .egt files. Could someone please answer my question?

I also see that I have to install Robert's male body and Exnem's Female Eye Candy. I have installed the Eye Candy but not the male body yet. Oh I also see that I need the custom race fix, which I have installed.

If someone could post the order that everything should be installed that would be really great!

:thanks:

Just to let you know, I play the Xbox 360 version. This is my first time playing the PC version. A friend turned me on to all the great mods that can be done to the PC version and I want to add as many as I can. So I haven't even started the PC version because I want to use the Lineage II elves as my character.

ok first of all its a really bad idea to add a bunch of mods without playing the game first. You should be adding them one at a time to make sure they work first!

Second. I used that race mod for quite a while, here's something you really need to use, its a utility which will unpack and install everything from a mod in the correct place and its easy to use!

I have OBMM and Wrye Bash loaded. The zip files that are in the downloads for Ren's hair do not have any instructions as to where they go. The reason that I want to add the Elves file is to choose that as my character that I want to play with. That requires me installing all the necessary pieces before I play the game. The mod for Ren's Hair is not an omod. There are 4 zip files total and when I open them all that is in the files are a bunch of egm and nif files. No instructions on what to do with them. Not sure how to load them through OBMM. As far as I can tell, the OBMM si for esp or esm files or omods that you have to activate. What I am looking for an answer as to where I put all these files so that I can get the Elves mod to work?

Can I see either the Link or the Readme to the Rens Hair pack you're using?

by the way, is this the version of Elves of Lineage II you're using?

I'm guessing this one?

Anyway, egm files should go into the same folder as the hair which shares their same name.

example: Ren_Hair01F.egm needs to be in the same folder with Ren_Hair01F.nif.

I suggest you look at this alternate pack of hair for Elves of Lineage II as well.

Here is the link for Ren's Hair - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11749. There is no readme file in any of the 4 downloads. I am using the Elves of Lineage II link that you posted above. There is also a patch for it but I don't know if I need to install it or not. So the egm files go in with the nif files? Also could someone post the order of which I have to load everything to get it all to work so I can create my character (i.e. Robert's male body and Exnem's female body 1st, then custom race fix, etc). If I have loaded something out of order, how do I uninstall it and try again without having to re-install the whole game again? I am not really sure if OBMM or Wrye Bash can uninstall whole mods that I installed. I don't have that much installed so it wouldn't be a pain but I did forget to copy my data folder and save it somewhere else just in case. It won't kill me to start again and remember to copy the original data folder.

Rule of thumb: match the .egm with .nif of the same name. It's not always hair, but can be helmets and such.

Now this would probably have been much easier if you had chosen a different Ren's Hair pack, because then, you would have simply replaced the originals in their original folder structure (adding the new egm files of course). I'm fairly certain many hair packs have already updated all the Rens Hair for you. Personally I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you simply go get Savage Artistry's hair pack and thus give yourself a huge break:

At least until you get a grip on this Oblivion-mod business.

Exnem's female body is pretty old now, and has been surpassed by many newer options. I'm dead certain you don't have to use the Exnem body, it's just one of the nicer ones available at the time of the original release date for this Lineage II mod.

You can add your female body mods last.

If you choose to go with Exnem, it's an OMOD format which is easy to uninstall. Also, if you do choose to go with Exnem, then I would encourage you to addon the HGEC body over it, also an OMOD (which requires Exnem first, last time I looked, which admittedly was a while ago--meaning YOU MUST READ ALL DOCUMENTS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING ANY MOD.) Sorry just making that clear again, not implying you haven't.

The reason I suggest the HGEC on top of the Exnem, is that it gives you more choices regarding your character's default undressed body shape and style. Undressed can be nude or clothed in underwear. This is also true of the Roberts Male Body.

I highly recommend the Roberts Male Body as well. There are lots of reasons to love it.

It also comes in OMOD Format, it will give you choices for what your preferred male body style is (choices are such as slender or muscular and others), and whether that body should wear a loincloth, underwear, or be nude. It can be loaded at any time, just as Exnem can, but since there's less to think about, it's arguably the only male body replacer you need to think about, it should probably go in before you reach your final decision on which Female body replacer you want.

I suggest you read up a lot on the female bodies available, they now include Roberts Female Body, Bab Biu Adventuress, Team Fantasy Figures, of course the old Exnem, and its new variants in the HGEC range of bodies.

For the most part, "clothed bodies" don't care which body is the base. That means if you download and equip some "TFF clothes" and equip them on your Exnem body for example, your character will have the TFF body while the clothes are equipped. There are sometimes issues with clipping depending on the clothes, but experimentation and adaptation will resolve most of these issues, mainly by making sure you equip all matching body parts for a clothing or armor set: Cuirass/torso, Greaves/legs, Gauntlets/hands, etc. You'll get the hang of it.

I think I've actually answered your questions for now. As far as the custom race fix though, you do not need it if you have installed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. (I myself do not use that though.)
