Coddington
Hi there I was just wondering if anyone knows how to make an object in skyrim viewable at a great distance like the buildings in Whiterun or the mountains. I would like to make structures that can be seen from a distance. If there is some way to extend the viewable distance for an object In the creation kit? I would really apreciate the help. I'm really pulling my hair out over this one Thanks

Unless you start using the following trick everywhere (not recommended, of course). In the CK, right click on the object, click Edit, and in its Reference pop-up window check the "Is Full LOD" checkbox. Click OK, save your mod, and that's it. Regards,C. MasterKingly
You can do this through XEdit too. Just find the object in the plugin, right click record flags and select 'Persistent' and 'Is Full LOD' from the dropdown list. It's important that the record be marked persistent as otherwise it will not be loaded until you're within grid range. If you were to run DynDOLOD after flagging the objects as full LOD, it'd usually change them to 'Visible when Distant' in its plugin, so it's only really useful if the player isn't using DynDOLOD. But it won't really hurt either way because the performance impact will be non-existent for DynDOLOD users and minimal for vanilla. A dozen or so buildings/town walls added to the distant landscape won't have too much of an impact on FPS.
