how do I change one hand custom sword into two hand?

I want to change the FFXII sword from Hiyoko store into two hand. I tried changing it to BladeTwoHand in the CS but it doesnt work as the sword still appeared to be one handed. I think it has something to do with the mesh file, is it easy to edit the mesh file? If so, how do I do it?

Try this mod,

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13026

All you have to do is open up the Sample.esp that comes with it in the CS, create a new weapon, adjust the stats, and apply the mesh from the sword you want. After that add the one to two hand script that's built into this mod and you make a one hander a two hander. It won't be the sword you get from the store, but it'll look and function the same assuming you duplicate its stats, and apply it's mesh. Then place the weapon on some random vendor to sell you or just throw it on the floor somewhere, whatever. Hopefully, what I said isn't Greek, err good luck. Oh yeah duh, you can also modify the existing one to two hand scripted weapon that comes with this mod, that would likely make things easier.

Oh yes it'll require OBSE.

Good luck, and if you need help PM me. I don't use that store anymore after finding beret's I like better, but I still have the mod, and can test the sword in question out for you, and try to get you what you want. Wynton's script used to be a must have for me before I learned of Mayu's MRI, and MAO, as well as DMC. Nevertheless I still use Wynton's script for a few weapons, so I know his mod really well. Actually I almost released a mod based off his script (with his permission) that allowed a player to buy all the one handed Katnana's from Snow Dragon Temple, with his script applied to all the one handed weapons making them all one to two handers, though I see little point with the load of mods that came out before I had a chance to finish it to release that.

I also have the Hiyoko Store, but I only got it for the beret's for the most part. >.> However I recently found a mod with better berets recently and no longer use that mod, but I still have the it. So yeah I can help you troubleshoot, via PM but be aware sometimes it takes a while for me to reply to a PM, especially as of late as my life has been hectic. Still, I'm willing to help. :)

Hey, so I found 2 scripts inside, and I apply the 1 hand to 2 hand script to my new weapons, dropped it in game. Now the sword before drawing is one handed, but after I drawn it becomes two handed. Normal attack appears to be two hand's attack, but power attacks are one hand's. Kind of weird, but I kind of like it.

And is it possible to make the sword rest on back when not drawn? I think it looks better that way with my two hand idle animation(yes, I am a 2 hand freak). I tried changing the sword to one hand or two hand in the CS but that doesnt appear to be working. Before drawn is still one hand, and power atatcks are still two hand.

But thats really my limit over there, I only know how to do some small editing through the CS. I have no idea how to mess with the nif and stuffs or do the scripting. So if you know how to make the sword rest on the back instead of hip, and the power attacks to two hands as well, that would be great (tho the power attacks are not as important as the sword on back to me).

And does this mod conflict with MRI? because I am using that too. MAO doesnt work for me, it crashes everytime I enter arcane university so I had to switch back to MRI.

thanks a bunch

Open the sword in NifSkope, look for 'NiStringExtraData' and change 'SideWeapon' to 'BackWeapon'. Open the mod in the CS, and make the weapon two handed.

Yeah that... err I have no idea as to how to use nifskope, so thanks for the save there. :D

And yes it's compatible with MRI. ^^

hrmmm come to think of it, if you can do this in nifskope, you might not even need Wynton's script. You may just be able to make it a two hander all together. Not sure really, since I haven't the foggiest clue as to how to use nifskope. o_O

Changing SideWeapon to BackWeapon changes the animations the game use for that weapon. And because it uses animations it will work without scripts.

Well there you go. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Edit: Also to add sorry, Wynton's script in retrospect was probably a poor suggestion. I thought for whatever reason you just wanted to wield the weapon with two hands but keep it at your side, as used to be the case with me with a lot of Katana mods until I downloaded DMC. So yeah nifskope seems like the best way to go considering what you want to do. And I must say, it sounds pretty easy to manipulate weapon placement in it too? At least easier than I thought, I might need to try it again, and fiddle around a bit.

I used Nifscope and changed the weapon to backweapon and it worked :D

And something weird is happening to Wynton's mod. If you have read my other post, I downloaded and installed some mods in other langauges which are casuing some parts of my game to be in other languages. But when Wynton's esp is activated, those parts that were previously in other language are reverted back to English. So i guess I will be keeping it after all even tho its original intended purpose is gone now, lol.

Thanks you two

Now only if I can figure out someway to make my argonian's hand back to normal...
