Weapon and Armor MODDERS LOOK HERE

OK, Here is the plan, bear with me for a minute. as it seems that no one that i know of (save a few selective packs) has made this Mod i am going to try to take it under my wing and nurture it to hopefully an ALL ENCOMPASSING MOD. "What ever do you mean Riven?" you may be asking yourself, well here is the short stubby version. I want to take Everyone's non replacement weapons and put them into ONE pack for a download. "OMG YOUR FLIPPIN CRAZY" you may be saying now, but i assure you i am not. I am starting this thread in hopes that all of you who have weapon or armor mods (minus the body dependent ones of course) well read this and give your permission here, also i want to know the community's take on this {if it has been done let me know}. So how about it anyone that does not read this post I will contact you personally when i get the chance to completely go through the Weapon and armor categories again. I will do the leg work on getting your Mod into the Geck into a single file.Your thoughts?

 

This will be taken on as a side project for now until i finish the MODS i am currently working on but I had to get the Idea out there now as getting the permission i believe will be the most lengthy step of this Process.

 

What is needed from you if you decide to participate;

-A link to your MOD so i can bookmark it ( will separate the two, those who say yes and those who say no.)

-A full statement stating that you are in agreement and are to be recognized in the Read me (my lord it will be long if everyone says yes :Þ)

-Or a simple no will suffices if you choose not to

-A personal "I'd like to thank..." blurb for the read me that will go along with your name, can be your mom, your cat, or even the neighborhood rock that everyone pees on if that is your thing. (not required but it is a way to have your voice heard so why not)

-Any upgrade plans you foresee in the future (I may wait till you feel you are finished to incorporate your MOd)

Edit:-Any queat information to get said Item, I do not want to break your Mod or your intentions for the MOD. If need will set up a treasure hunt type quest from NPC to find your spot or first item in line with your quest.

 

-*that is all i can think of right now but may add more as i get further into this MOD.

 

I will refresh this Thread as often as i can to keep it on the front page if i can (I know a lot of people try not to venture past the first page) But i am going for not being a nuisance in this.

 

 

So with that said lets start this off right. Who is gonna be my first victim ... i mean of course...erhm nevermind >:}

They could all apply for a shop spot on the Commonwealth Of Modders, as that was the point of that mod in the first place

Very true but i am planning on making a Trader Outpost near megaton AND tenpenny tower, to set up a merchant. that way there is no need to travel to exotic lands to get Items, and besides this is really more geared toward the less established Modders, although i am including everyone one in the initial. I know there are a few such as Jaysus and Malos and Growlf who have a great establishment in the COMM. For one i know i probably wont get the permission of ones such as them but i am not going to Exclude anyone from a place to put their weapons and armors other then Hollow rock >.< or inside Mora's stash, which with so many modders adding stuff it is hard to get a set item list of what she will and will not carry (at least in my case) As with my other MODS i am going for the non replacement of anything i don't have to. this will be a New NPC with a New Leveled list and new merchant container etc etc. For one it will cut the amount of MODS the you have to check to play the game, currently i have over 60 mods that JUST add a simple weapon or piece of armor in the game. Why not Build a Community where the masses can be heard? and yes i know that COM tried to accomplish that, but for the inexperienced Modder they may just not meet the requirements to get in. this is going to be for the people by the people (hmm why is that familiar >.<) and i am hoping that people will jump on board because the places will be extremely accessible with in a hop skip and a jump from their current player house (vanilla). I may also place vendors throughout the wastes so you wont have to fast travel too far to get the things you need. but as of right now i am Planing a stand outside megaton somewhere (i don't want to conflict with current MODs and Tenpenny because those seem to be the vanilla Hubs of commerce. and it is easy, MOdders don't have to do anything except give permission and the occasional help if i cannot figure out their MOD.

Does it matter if it adds a cave or something along the lines of that to get said new weapons and armor. (armor has original model and texture)

 

 

An interesting Idea.... hmm for those weapons and armors would it be feasible to heve the quest initiated through said vendor? like maybe through the dialog the vendor happens to mention a random cash of weapons and the said weapon or armor is among the stash (like the vendor gives you the quest to find said item?)

 

Edit: Doing this would keep any original plan for the MOD (although will require ALOT of dialog on my part hehe, but i am up for it)

my mod is a bit hard to explain and doesn't involve any documented quest (its more like breadcrumb notes) im going to keep working on it to get it finished then ill see you about it.

 

hmm just remembered might require Anchorage to work but so far i think it wont.

well i think there are alot out there right now that do involve anchorage so i am thinking either totally redoing the Nif and Dds files for each item which may in turn make it possible to do all the replacer items if i just rename the nifs to what ever item they are and include them...but not sure where on the legality board it would be to include the nifs for anchorage

Yes I know about the CGC I use it actually :) where i came up with this MOD idea actually. But i have two major problems with the CGC, in one they only offer the "best" of the items out there (which from my understanding, has a few requirements to be placed in the CGC [(i.e. has to look at least half way decent.) IMO is not truly fair to the less extablished Modders out there :) ] and two they are availible on a vendor which i dont think is right for the weapons and armors that people create with a little quest behind it :) I LIKE QUESTS to earn my stuff and therefore will only act as a Gateway in order to start the quest. I am thinking if i can swing it for those that do have a quest to get them (depending on levels of the gun) make it completly random which quest you are sent on and maybe have a certain amount of qeusts you can do at once (like have the NPC say something like "thats all i have heard of but when i hear of more caches, i will let you know" type thing)

Ah, okay, I see your point. Though I sort of support CGC's "policy" on incorporation of mods though. I mean, there are a lot of..."less-developed" (politically correct term for "meaningless" :P) out there, and I can understand if they don't care to incorporate those into their mods.

 

Anyhow, I do understand your idea about the quest thing. I wish you the best of luck with this, as it'll be an undertaking incorporating old stuff while keeping up with the number of quality mods released weekly or bi-weekly.
