9hao
Hello fellow modders, I was very pleased with the way several others have managed to map separate voice files to their races. Several examples are the Ren's anime voice (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13691) and the Tabaxi Cat race (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9870). However, most of the custom voice mods are using the same voice files, and I wanted some greater variety when playing with my band of CM partners, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew how to map additional voice files I would have made into the custom race dialog. I have tried making folder in the sound/voice/oblivion.esm/ directory to match the race (example, tried adding voice to 00fsaram race would make folder sound/voice/oblivion.esm/00fsaram/). Have looked at other custom voice mods, such as the two aforementioned, but couldn't figure it out on my own. Also, I'm wondering if the .lip files have any significance (do the voice files have to match the .lip files in any way? ex. length of file?) I was planning on just modifying the .mp3 files from another custom voice mod, but if I have to learn how to make .lip files, I will. The voice files I'm trying to add are from SSBB (super smash brawl), will be glad to share finished product if completed. Help please!
Vagrant0
The voice files I'm trying to add are from SSBB (super smash brawl), will be glad to share finished product if completed. Help please!Unless that is a resource is entirely open source, as in; free, no copyright, message saying that the end user is free to modify, re-use, or alter, you cannot share those files legally. As for the question of voices, .lip files are necessary for the mouth of the NPC to move when speaking. These are generated automatically if using the 1.1 version of the game and CS (which CM partners is not compatible with) but is broken in the 1.2 version of the CS. There are some alternative means of making these files, but most tend to be fairly complicated and with mixed results. Best advice I could give you would be to generate silent voices with a newer version of TES4Gecko when you have all your dialogues done, then overwrite the generated voice files with what you want to be heard. The lips won't match the audio, but atleast it's something.
9hao
Thanks. I thought there might be some issues with copyright protection, and I definitely will look into that before posting something online in the future. In any case, I am only trying to alter the hit and power strike .mp3s. Matching the .lip files to the .mp3s are of low priority to me (as they are probably almost the same for my purposes). I know the tabaxi and ren's alternate voice mods contain all of their custom files within the directorysound/voice/oblivion.esm/(customrace)/ What must be done to "link" the voice selection in the CS races menu to the new directory in the Data folder?I tried just making a new folder, in the about scheme sound/voice/oblivion.esm/00fsaram/f/and put my files there. Then, on the 00fsaram race part of the CS menu, I specified I wanted to use "00fsaram" as the female voice. This is what I did to try and "copy" the other custom voice mods. This does not seem to be enough. Does anyone know what else must be done?
