t-leaves
Certain spells can be evoked By Touch.... when/why would you want this? How do I touch -- anything? If something touches me while the spell is working, will it work on them?
Coolhandgoose
On touch just basically means you have to be standing right next to them for the spell to work. Example... Damage Health 10 to 40 pts on touch. There are also enchantments for: on target, constant effect, and cast when strikes (touch them with your sword!) DreamOfTheRood
Why would you want to do this? For certain spells, like Open and Lock, it is your personal preference whether you want to use a Cast on Target or Cast on Touch. In the instances of non-combat spells, I find that Cast on Touch usually works best for me. In combat situations, I'm a melee kind of guy, meaning that I like to get up close and personal with my weapons. However, if a combat spell is required, say Psychic Prison, then I'd rather use Cast on Target so as to keep some distance between my self and my unlucky target. That way, an enemy won't be able to interrupt my admittedly lacklaster casting abilities. You touch something by standing directly against it. t-leaves
Thanks for your answers! One more question: if I am close enough to strike my target with my Long Sword, am I close enough for Touch?
_it_
you could also enchant that longsword so when it hits the enemy it wil strike your desired spell
