Texture help: p_ versus prp_

I've noticed there seem to be a couple main naming conventions for misc objects in Dragon Age. Some textures begin with p_, while some begin with prp_.

The difference would be p_covered_wagon versus prp_candle_holder.

 

What separates p_ textures from prp_ textures? The prp_ textures seem to be smaller in general. I'm re-texturing many objects, so if I can't pinpoint the difference between the two naming conventions I might waste a lot of time and effort.
