vltima
This may be a stupid question. I'm aware of this tutorial http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1, but it appears to be for Blender 2.49 and the nif scripts for this version requires a python installation (2.6.6) that is not supported for my x64 operating systems (it seems). Is there a workaround for this? I have some experience with Blender but especially between versions like 2.4 (what I'm used to) and 2.8 a lot of the user interface changed and it's hard to follow a guide meant for a different version. There are some videos on youtube that are from years before Special Edition (which changed the nif file format and therefore the process, apparently). One recent one ( ) appears to be what I need but has no sound or explanation, which would have helped. Is there a detailed, ideally point by point guide based around current versions of software somewhere that anyone would recommend? thumbincubation
This is not my strong point, but I think some of the answers may be found in Adventurer111's post on this thread. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/10492548-newbie-looking-to-make-a-weapon-mod/
vltima
Thanks, that's got useful info. I tried doing what the guide said with a new helmet, but importing the obj into nifscope left it all jagged and messed up/partially missing bits. I used to import weapons into nifscope from obj before and never had that issue. I tried deleting duplicate vertices, refacing normals and so on (in blender before exporting), but nothing helps. I'm gonna try and uninstall and reinstall all the blender versions to see if that does anything.
thumbincubation
I think I remember reading that only certain versions of nifskope will support import/export with blender now. I use pre-alpha 6, but I don't know how to 3d model so blender isn't an issue for me. You might try versions dev7 or dev8, if they're still on JonWD7's github. As far as I know, he's the last dev who has done any nifskope support.
