Roman88
Hi, new to modding after weeks or trying to understand to mod the game, and forced to inititate new game to make mods work properly i thought i reached a stable load order. My game is running fine, without glitches or bugs, but sometimes crash to desktop without warning, like the game was closing by itself. It isnt after x minutes or so, it appears to be entirely random, first was when i was travelling, by foot, to Falkarth near Helgen and after reloading a save, now crashed when i was talking to Brynjolf after doing the first quest after arriving Riften first time. I dont have idea of these things but i was told that scripts could led to crashes, so i opened reshaver (though i didnt uninstalled or installed any mod in this playthrough after i started it) So i opened Reshaver to look for some info about that and is showing me that "This savefile has 3 script instances whose data is missing." I will attach and screenshot for this warning. This is my modlist: https://modwat.ch/u/Roman88/plugins What should i do, thanks in advance! I use vortex btw I should mention that im using cathedral minimalist enb Edited September 26, 2021 by Roman88
anjenthedog
clean >>> Remove undefined elementssave cleaned file to either a new file name or augment the name of the source file (I prepend "cleaned_" to the file name) As far as the overall problem of intermittent CTDs (crash to desktop), there are a bunch of reasons, from VRAM issues to script lag issues to bad game loads (some addon mods have some issues that can cause CTDs...I'm figuring out one right now with stuff added by a "monster" addon) but it boils down to "shaking down" the issues in a given game installation. For script lag, I'd recommend installing Elephant's script lag tool. It allows you to monitor lag so you an dodge inside a player home (or anywhere inside where it's "quiet") to let the game cool down, if the lag exceeds ~100msec in normal play. If you're anywhere near Bleakwind Basin - half-ish way between Whiterun and Rorikstead -and start to get noticeable lag, fast travel to another area and chill for a little while, ideally inside somewhere, and ideally in a player home where you know it's not at all "busy". And do so pronto! This region seems especially prone to "oddities" and resultant CTDs. And noticeable lag is an indication something bad is about to happen to the game, but the general advise goes for anywhere you are where you *can fast travel if you start the see discernible lag (again, anything over ~100msec, even though that's a bit high for my liking, I run around 80ms-90ms normally)... *for a while - I usually go home, then stay inside for several game days, sleeping and crafting to "pass the time", then create a new save, then clean the save, exit the game, then reload using the cleaned save. it takes all of ten minutes or less depending on the lengths you want to go to. For graphics issues, depending on your specific hardware, you might not be able to run with those new 16K textures like you wanted... (if you get my drift) - I have to pay attention here because I only use a 6G, middling grade video card, so my choices in textures and realism have to be watched. subtle conflicts in mods can happen too, in which case you have to be on the lookout for patches for your chosen mods. If you recognize any pattern, any correlation between what you're doing or where you are, etc and CTDs, do a widenet search (duckduckgo, goggle, bing) using the eterms "skyrim special edition <your condition, ex: "cathedral weathers"> problem bug issue". Others have probably been there already. In general, make saves ~often. If you're "out and about" for a while, consider making a new save, then reloading using that save. It appears to help the game deal with housekeeping and reduce stress. Use fallrim resaver periodically on save files to clean up leftover junk (both unattached instances and unidentified elements) After you uninstall anything, make sure that once you've loaded the game and you get notice that <such and such mod is missing> after saying OK, and the save loads completely, make a new save and clean that using fallrim, then reload the cleaned save to continue.
