LuxuriousP
Hi, resolution scaling is a feature in many modern games these days, a feature that allows you to keep your resolution, (1920x1080, 2560x1440, e.t.c) but lower the scale of the resolution in order to gain more fps, I feel that skyrim desperately needs this feature, as the biggest bottleneck in skyrim, for me and many many others is the GPU, short of buying a new gpu, not much you can do there, However resolution scaling would be the answer to bottleneck issues, currently it only exists in a modification someone on the nexus made, which was built for ultrawide (3440x1440) that injected into ENB and using SSEDisplayTweaks, lowered the resolution scale and used supersampling to upscale the resolution, Issue is it disables a bunch of enb effects in the process, which if you ask me defeats the purpose of having a resolution scaling option, loads of us use ENB's i've course, Now, SSEDisplayTweaks does have the scaling, however in doing so, while it does scale the resolution down, it also scales your ACTUAL resolution down, so inventory, map, e.t.c look blurred and horrible, We need a middle-ground, resolution-scaling that allows you to KEEP your resolution without blurring everything, allows you to use your ENB to the fullest & uses some form of supersampling to upscale the resolution up again, If this existed, it'd allow people to get a significant fps improvement if their GPU was the bottleneck, which in alot of cases, it is, I personally think a proper well-made resolution scaling modification can be the next step in skyrim's evolution, thanks for reading.
