Salvinha
Hey guys, I'm in need of formating my computer soon mainly because I really need to change some things and I have delayed that for 1 year now.I recently finished downloading, installing, and configuring all the mods I need for SkyrimSE.Vortex and Skyrim, both are installed in partitions different than the OS (but not the same between them) so they won't be formatted. I wanted to know if after I format windows, reinstall vortex (in the same directory) and verify all Skyrim files on Steam, if all the mods will be counted as installed and will stay as it is.Will vortex keep its configs and Load/Deployment Order? Thanks! Edited October 5, 2021 by Salvinha
HadToRegister
NO, you'll lose everything because all of the installation info for Vortex is stored at C:\users\YOUR NAME\appdata\roaming\vortex You also didn't mention PURGING your mods before doing all of this, which will also lead to huge problems. Salvinha
And what if I save this folder in appdata and paste it after formatting?I was not thinking about purging at all. Edited October 5, 2021 by Salvinha
Solution HadToRegister Posted October 5, 2021 Solution Share Posted October 5, 2021 And what if I save this folder in appdata and paste it after formatting?I was not thinking about purging at all. Yes, first PURGE your mods for each game Backup the Folder on C Then after formatting and reinstalling Windows and Vortex, then restore your appdata\roaming\vortex folder then you should be able to DEPLOY your mods again and pick up where you left off Of course, you'll also lose all the savegames and data for your Bethesda games, because those are all saved in C:\ Documents\My Games\ folder, as well as any program settings etc, that are saved to the Users\Yourname\appdata\ folders
