Porting Armour from New Vegas to Fallout 3.

Hey all, this is my first time on the nexus forums.

I'm trying to port over the remnants power armour to Fallout 3 as a standalone item (I would have liked to use it as a replacer for the enclave soldiers as well but that's probably beyond my limited abilities, with all the added difficulties of having the wanderers edition installed). I own New Vegas and Fallout 3 on steam.

I've tried using several guides to help me out but I'm a little stuck as I'm an utter tool when it comes to stuff like this. I've managed to extract the textures and meshes for the armour from New Vegas and create a blank .esp called 'Old Enclave Armour'. But now I'm not sure where to go from here.

I would really appreciate any advice you guys could give me.

Oh btw, I'm using the Nexus Mod Manager and I've got both GECKs. I also have the FOMM, but I only used it to extract the files from new vegas.

This is just for private use, I don't intend to post these files online due to the legality issues.

Bam!

I know I'm shilling for my own mod but PMO has that and most armor and outfits from New Vegas, as well as weapons. It's probably incompatible with FWE, however.

Hey man, your mod looks badass. I really like the way you recreated DT.

I would definitely try your mod in a heartbeat if I hadn't got so invested in FWE. Is there any way I could just get the old enclave armour to spawn on encalve troopers from your complete file? I'd definitely give your mod an endorsement

You won't need my file if you just want old school Enclave armor, assuming you've already ported the meshes and textures, including gloves. Create a new .esp file with FWE as a master file and edit Enclave power armor's meshes. Select the proper mesh from the folder and it'll change. You'll also need to edit the biped model list (under form list, I believe) of Enclave armor to remove the backpack and change the look of the gloves, if you extracted them as well. Do the same for Tesla armor, if you have already extracted the stuff.

Thanks man, really appreciate the help. In order to create an .esp file using FWE as a master, do I just load FWE in the GECK and then create a blank .esp?

Yes. Best to open the GECK as an admin, too, if you don't already do that. I find that it refuses to save my .esp files unless I do that.

Hey man, sorry to keep troubling you with this, but you obviously know your stuff. When I change the meshes in the geck they show up with the correct outline and proportions but they are bright red. I guess that's down to not having the correct texture as well, but I'm not sure how to apply the texture.

I'd really appreciate it if you could give me a quick walkthrough of the steps you used to do it yourself (bear in mind I'm pretty s#*! at this kind of thing). Thanks for the help.
