Unavi
hmm... what about those animation/lowpoly models of people in the arena? the crowd? maybe it would be possible to make a land scape with a new animation of them fighting each other (like two armies) in the distance when you are acctualy fightnig along 4-5 npc vs 4-5 enemies and both sides keep respawnig and joning the battle untill some goal is reached. (like in the new LOTR: conquest - i played it just for a second and i could be wrong). please don't kill me if this is stupid :D
TheCalliton
that would be pretty lameunless its a large battle and their off in the distance
xxXEvandarXxx
I guess that one could create just a flat screen with a animated texture of a battle, and then place four of them around the real battle.
TheCalliton
excuse me, but that makes no sense.

xxXEvandarXxx
excuse me, but that makes no sense.Yes it does. :) I'll show you what I mean.We have a small battle just like it is normally. Around the battle, we place four big screens with animated textures, so it looks like people are fighting on the screen. Kinda like a TV right?http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm197/xxXEvandarXxx/battlewith4screens.jpg The textures would be people fighting right? So, we record a in game fight with FRAPS, convert the .avi file to images in RAD Video Tools, and make a animated texture out of it. And of course, we would need to remove the background from the recorded fights. Kinda like this, but we would need a more detailed texture! :P This is only something I made to explain what I mean.http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm197/xxXEvandarXxx/battlescreens.jpg

While a battle in the distance or one up close with a few added around it may/may not be someones cup of tea, there are plenty of games out there that do that. Why take a great game and then load it down with something that really has no place in this type of game other than the batlle for Bruma and the final conflict.
