Diablo 2 ressurection "retail" won't work after having mods

Hello everyone! First time posting on the forums and I don't really know if this is the right forum, but I'm trying.

First of all, I bought D2R when it came out, and played it without much problems. Some FPS drops here and there due to my computer not being at the top-tier. After a while, about 1 week, I started looking into mods and of course came here. Nexusmods has been my go-to since trying out for Monster Hunter: World so I know there's quality here.
The mods I've been trying has worked well so far, good installation guides and getting what was promised.

Then I got a mod, which has now been deleted from the website, that crashed the game when I installed it. The mod in question I believe was called "D2SPEZ".

I can enter the game, I come to the "Connecting to Battle.net" sign and then there's just a crash. I get a blizzard error pop-up but there's no error ID or anything which can help me. I have tried to install the game on all my different hard-drives, my SSD one and 2 other older ones. None of them work, all have the same problem with crashing when the game loads up the character list.

 

I have updated my drivers on graphic card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and that doesnt work.

I've tried to set the graphics to lowest without any result.

Tried many times to reinstall the game on different drivers, doesn't work.

The mod in question I believe was called "D2SPEZ"

The error message on the blizzard pop-up is: The application encountered an unexpected error

My question to you is: Have you also had this experience with this mod? If so, how did you fix it? And if you have not experienced this, can you help me fix it?
