surg23
Hi there, Every time i try to mod any weapon stats, it makes my game very unstable. Even if i just adjust the "clip" size of a Hunting shotgun. The only weapon mods I have installed are WRP and Trail-Carbine-mods. Since the Trail-carbine-mod changes the .NIF when upgraded, its screws with WRP's replacement mesh. I went into the Trail-Carbine-mod and changed all applicable models of it to default .NIF. This works fine in game, but for some reason modding any weapon stats on any weapon makes my game crash (generally soon after loading) or randomly. The method i used was checking the Trail-carbine-mod.esp only - setting it to active - changing the model .NIF's in Mod-info - And then saving. Should I be loading any other plugin files when modding base-game weapons and/or DLC weapons ?
surg23
Well, I have finally been successful in modding the Trail Carbine NIF's and stats without any crashing, however I'm a little scared to try modding the hunting shotgun again. Perhaps the only reason this worked is because I only modded the Trail Carbine, and no other base-game weapons. Does anyone know if I have to load any other master files in order to do that ? Or will loading any .esp with stat changes be ok as long as it loads after its parent files ?
dangman4ever
From what I can tell, you shouldn't be having any sort of issue modding weapon stats. Though just to cover all our bases, what does your load list look like? Also when editing the trail carbine mods.esp, did you create a new .esp file or did you save all the changes to that trail carbine mods.esp file?
