I know there's 100 threads pertaining to this issue but none of them have been of any help to me. I've tried every possible fix, I've searched countless hours looking for more and I cannot find any.

My current issue is that when I'm in-game playing, at random times maybe after I load a new area, after I lockpick sometimes, when I'm walking towards DC on the Megaton side of the river, sometimes when I blow someones head off, sometimes even when i first load my saved games.

I've tried a lot of fixes, such as the changing of my fallout.ini file. I have one in my documents and one in my steam folder, I even changed them both. I downloaded d3dx9.dll and placed it in my fallout 3 folder, I've tried changing compatability to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) AND Windows Vista (Service Pack 1). I've changed my affiliation to only one core, I've done all that I've found.

[EDIT]: I've also downloaded the Fallout 3 latest patch 1.7. That at least fixed me crashing when entering the SuperDuper Market

Nothing has been successful at getting my game working.

I've lost a lot of my faith in getting this game to work. If anyone could help or need any other information please let me know what information you need and I will gladly provide it for you.

I just bought my graphics card so all I did was install the disc it came with.

64 bit

[Edit]: I'm a total noob so you'll have to bare with me, I know mostly the basics.

on the link, I provided, just below where you select the correct data, there is a button to all them to scan your system. IF an update for that card was made, the scan result will reflect this. it's your choice at this point to allow the up grade. But, back up the system first so the graphics settings remain in tact as they are right now. use an external drive large enough to back up your files with. then down load and run that update.

reconfigure the game data with out the fancy mods I see you have first, get the maximum from the vanilla game files first, then ad in all the candy stuff.

we do what we must in order to get the best we can. NOTE: default programing and time taken can produce all the effects those 3 mods can do with out tampering with the systems display drivers. No xml's

Disable these while tunning thee machince and the game CINEMATECH.esmImaginatorFO3.espDYNAVISION - Dynamic Lens Effect.esp

If I don't have an external drive large enough for all my files, how else could I go about this? Usually I just download and install and hope for the best lol. I mean I have 919 GB on my hard drive, 127 GB are left. lol

right click the My computer desktop icon and select management, in there go to storage drives. when it's all loaded up, click on the main drive, right click it and shrink the volume , you chose carefully first ,please take your time , write things down and go slow, here, choose the shrink size so you don't cut your self short for more games. when it's done, you will be left with a new drive, raw, and unallocated. you set that o

ne active. reboot. Divide the drive by 1/2 if you choose. but you can now use that separate partition for your back up drive.

wait what? only 127 left? oh man !

no don't do this.

My fallout game is 1 tera byte in size. I have a quadra byte setup too. for gaming, you need more stoage space. just hold off or roll the dice on the drivers.

I'm gonna roll the dice. lol yeah I have like 50 some games. <.> Dice says, my monitor went black and I had to restart. lol Already rolled the dice before you told me to

May still have something to do with the fact that I just recently switched from my ATI Radeon 6800 serious to NVIDIA GTX. Gave me some small problems but I ended up fixing them.

Ah, now we are getting some where, rerun the game launcher, it should recalibrate and produce a new file in the My games folder. the render text file has the old instructions in it also, where the plugin txt file is located there is a viewsetting thing too, it sees to be re-referenced to the new card.

ok, 64bit systems have 2 systems. x(86), there is a 32bit copy of both game plugin data and view settings. these get set at install only but, the system still accesses these too. they are hidden from you. later ion that.

the trick here is tools. what tools do you have and what can you do with them.

the game launcher sets up the graphics for the games, the steam folder also has this too, then , Fomm has another one and access to these settings will differ.

too much at once.
