Marcus Wolfe Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Alright, there are 3 ways my 5-6 year old computer crashes, and I've experienced them all in under an hour:1. Infinite freeze2. Screen goes black3. Restart without warning My headphones have been giving off some funny noises recently, and it's been only 5 days since we got it back from the computer whiz who fixed it's massive crash problem. He said it was fine when he ran his tests, it must've been a loose piece. What is the possible problem?
IamBatosai Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 PEBKAC. :P Well, what are you specs? Sounds like maybe the power supply is kicking out power for everything. Or something might be overheating.
bben46 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 The restart without warning points to a power supply. Or something pulling down the 5 volt supply. Give us some info on your computer. Is the power supply replaceable? or is it a proprietary rig?
Biblost Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Do you also have trouble with starting the PC? In that case, it's most obviously the power supply, I once had the same problem too.
