Belisarius68
Hey everyone, I've been having major issues with my Steam copy of Fallout 3. I have gone through the long process of downloading it to Steam, and then I tried to play it.Then it takes me to the Start Menu. But the only option there is Install. So I press that. But then it says that Fallout 3 "doesn't appear to be installed" and tells me to find the setup.exe by exploring the DVD-ROM drive to install it. But there's nothing there, because this is the Steam version. I've looked through the program files exhaustively, but I can't find anything that remotely resembles a setup file. Help? I really want to play this game..... Edited August 3, 2013 by Belisarius68
TimeShadow
I am sorry but I don't use Steam for FO3, just Fallout New Vegas, and that is because you have to.First, make sure that your file is not corrupted, perhaps you should re-download it.Second, where is it installed? I know that if you use WinVista or Win7 you should not install it in the programs folder. If you do, try to run it a administrator (right-click on file and Run as Admin).I put mine on a second drive, or at the least a partitioned drive. If it is not in the programs folder, search Steam as I don't remember the Steam path as I am not using it now (just FO3).Lastly, have you contacted Steam, maybe they can help.Perhaps someone else remembers the Steam path. Good Luck ~TS Edited August 9, 2013 by TimeShadow
