I'm playing a warrior type - how should I balance health and stami

I'm playing a sword and board Nord (a Nord woman). She only has perks in combat trees and stealth trees (1H, block, smithing, light armor, speechcraft, and lockpicking).

I'm at level 35 now. When I gain a level, I pump up health and stamina. Magicka is still at 100. My stamina is at 180 and the health is around 400 (and it is higher than that, due to a fortify health ring that adds 40 points of health). I read something here, someone advised to level up health and stamina evenly for warrior types. Is that what I should do? Should I pump more points into stamina? Or is my stamina fine at 180 and I can just pump more points into health from now on?

Some things to note: She adventures alone (so maybe more health is better?). I don't have perks in power bashing, and she uses a 1H sword. She has a perk that reduces stamina use in 1H power attacks. I'll adventure alone until I deem I need a follower or two, if it gets to that point.

I like about 2/3 Health - 1/3 Stamina myself.....though once I hit about 250 Stamina I find I don't need anymore and just pour all the points into Health after that....I play a Nord Male primarily a Light Armored Stealth Poisons Archer but with Two Handed back up (no Magic, no Healing Potions or Potion Skill Buffers, no Enchanted Items)....as his Light Armored he uses a lot of 'bash' at close quarters with his Bow and Sword and find between 200-250 Stamina he never ends up drained....I also use a Mod (Duel Combat Realism) that makes more demands of Stamina....My Dovahkin also is most usually a lone Wolf, I find Followers tend to be quite a drawback with my Combat style and so very rarely use them, my Dovahkin tends to Mountain Goat a great deal, Ambushes opponents and make great use of his environment around him...none of which work well with Followers....Anyway I find my balance works very well for my game play with lots of bash use, hope I have managed to help.

StayFrosty is right about the division. When you start the game as a one or two handed warrior or both, as I do, you need both health and stamina desperately. After about level 6 or seven, though, I use the 2 for 1 split he mentions from then on. Like most slash and bash games, Skyrim has a hierarchy that goes, damage, armor, health. The problem is damage is very easy to come by in the game. Armor is a close second. I used to train in this and that but, I never use trainers any more. My favorite playthrough as a warrior, so far is the one where I kept all three weapon types as up to date as possible, and kept all three armor types current. No enchanting, limited smithing and limited alchemy. Only simple novice spells, like healing, healing hands and a couple of other novice spells. The only other trees I invest anything in for most of the game is sneaking and speech. I don't start enchanting armor until I hit 60 smithing naturally as a result of game decisions. I make healing potions sometimes, but really, I don't do much alchemy until the rings and necklaces, etc. kind of pile up. There are Smithing potions lying around everywhere, so if you can show a little discipline you can use plain steel armor deep into the game. Same with weapons. If you like the light armor, you can get good light armor easily from the game. You will need to take the light armor smithing tree to advanced but after that, it's just another choice. I hope my rambling helps. The bottom line I think, is that you can have a lot of fun, whatever you decide.
