Mcwillx
I've recently been downloading many, many player homes looking for ones that I would like to use as my primary Dragonborn base of operations, for my next new game. There are two major problems with almost all of them: 1. They are free.2. They require almost no effort to acquire. Building your own home, or at least paying for it to be furnished, gives the player a sense of accomplishment when they enter it after it is completed. You start off with an empty house with four walls and a floor. Then you end up with all the things you need to fulfill your Dragonborn destiny. But when you simply walk down the road and find (download) a house, already filled with everything you need, the place is just... boring. It doesn't feel like YOUR house because you put in zero effort to acquire it. Now, I really liked the way the Hearthfire DLC let you build your own house. You could customize each wing to what you wanted. My warrior character had an armory, bedroom, and trophy room, while my mage character had a kitchen and two towers. Each time I built the house, I could make it a little different to suit my current character build. More than that, it took time and resources to build it, which made it feel more like I earned the right to live there and move my family in. Can we use the same system that Hearthfire uses to build our player made houses from the ground up? Can we use the same system as the vanilla houses by starting off with a run-down shack, paying gold to have it cleaned up and furnished with all the necessities? I only know of one mod (Build Your Own Home by supernastypants) that lets you do this. I would definitely like to see more.
