brown66
Sorry my English. It's not my native language. Today, someone realese a mod and in its descrition it said that it's to correct Bethesda's incompetence. It's an animation mod and it prevents the suposed bug that slows down the main character when sheathing a sword. Is it really Bethesda's incompetence or is it Bethesda's obsessive quest for ultra realism, which I salute, and some people don't realize it?As far as I know, whenever someone goes on a run or walks and wants to sheath a sword, they have to slow down a bit to do it.Sorry to bring this subject here, but it makes an impression on me that so many people create mods with the argument that what was done by Bethesda was wrong, when I later, after I check the mod, I see it's not exactly better (sometimes is even worse ...), but simply... different! Personally, I see this happening a lot with textures and now with animations. The new textures presented are many times eye candy, a lot of people like them, but... those of the original game, despite the limitations imposed by compression because of graphics cards with little VRAM, are still the most realistic. Some of the new animations may be also eye candy to some players, but, to me, they looked a lot like the animations of some Japonese console games, like the fight animations full of jumps and pirouettes, but far from realistic animations. This doesn't mean that modders can't present their mods of something in Skyrim, quite the contrary!, and many people enjoyed it, but at least, in my opinion, it's not necessary to belittle the work of those who made this game in 2011, which at the time was very good (and I think it still very good!). Just my opinion... :ermm: Edited October 20, 2021 by brown66
thumbincubation
I saw that. I would challenge that individual to strap on a sword, draw, begin running, then sheathe without slowing down. That being said, I also saw that they made sure not to allow comments on their mod page. My guess is they wanted to make a statement, but didn't want to back it up.
