Kitsiee
So I just installed the respec mod and suddenly, all of my DLC is unavailable. I'm very late in the game (at the landsmeet) and have had no issues with mods up until now. I'm still very new to using mods and being on PC in general so I'm not 100% what to do here. I did some browsing of my own and realized it's likely because I used vortex to install it since I couldn't get the DAUpdater to work and was frustrated. Any way I can get my DLC back so I can finally finish the game?? Or will I need to do a fresh reinstall of the entire game and go back through and re-mod it as well? theskymoves
You are correct, Vortex does exactly what you described (randomly removes official DLC and any previously installed dazip mods). If you have the Origin digital download version of the game, you can 'repair' the install, which should 'reinstall' the DLC by replacing the damaged addins.xml file with a good version. (I'd even go so far as to remove the bad XML from \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings, to force the repair installer to replace the file.) Steam and GOG digital versions should also have a similar 'repair' function, but I am not familiar with the particulars. A physical media install (DVD) would probably require a full reinstall, though it's been so long since I used physical media I could be misremembering. Any dazip mods would need to be reinstalled as well. The override folder should be okay, though I would suggest moving or temporarily renaming it (to something like override.BAK), to be safe. I have the steam version and I went ahead and removed the XML before running the repair. It replaced it with a new one, but for some reason, I still don't have access to my DLC? UPDATE: I just went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist and ran the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam and DAUServiceSetup_Steam and now my DLC are all available again. I feel so silly for not thinking of that and trying so many different methods before that lol Edited October 20, 2021 by Kitsiee
