Bart95
So I tried to play the game in 1440x900, but the game screen seemed to have been 'moved' up as proven by opening the steam menu where a lot of the stuff was cut off at the top. After some fiddling I gave this mod a try but it only made things worse, quite apart from wrestling with steam this new EXE has caused the issue to spread OUTSIDE the game! My entire screen is now shifted up with a lot of stuff (such as browser tabs, an absolute nightmare browsing right now as I have to guess where my mouse is hovering) cut off at the top and a stupid black bar at the bottom. I've tried resetting my computer, starting the game in a different resolution with or without the "fix", changing my computers resolution, but nothing seems to work. So quite apart from not being able to play Oblivion in widescreen now EVERY program and windows in general has the exact same issue only in EVERY resolution. so I fixed the desktop issue, for some reason my refresh rate was changed to 60hz from 75 of it's own accord, weird. But I can assume this is what's wrong with the game. Just need to find the option for it now... Aaaand the option doesn't exist, wonderful. Is the game just outright not compatible with higher refresh rates? Edited August 4, 2013 by Bart95
Loukiana
*************************************** Oups ... sorry , une little translation seems to be necessary ... Hi there . 60 Hz is the native ' resolution 'for the LCD's Monitors ( or 125 HZ for the latest "High Tech' Monitors )... I 've played in this resolution ( 1440 x 900) with an old Nvidia 8800 GT ( 512 mega old graphic memory) but this is limit .for that résolution. I 'm playing also in that resolution with a HD 5750 from Ati ( 1024 mega of video memory) ... without problem too ... and this with Microsoft XP , or better, with Microsoft Windows7 ( 64 bits Edition) ... So , first you need to update your graphic card drivers ... but the last is not always the best ... no need to change a good working driver without a good reason. So , i don't play with the Steam Edition ( except for Skyrim ... of course) and i don't know i f the steam edition has or not a specific résolution : i don't think so . Your Monitor also probably need an Updated driver , no ? So bye , it's too late now in Belgium ... good night and sorry for my English, this is not my native language.
