lwbastion
Im new to the whole "using mods with Oblivion" but after browing thousands of files on tes nexus Im eager to get at it. The problem I'm currently having the most trouble with is getting some of the new race mods to work. As far as I can *tell* I'm following installation instructions step-by-step (I'm a bit crazy in that I tend to triple and quadruple re-read instructions before I do anything.. too many problems in the past with rushing stuff >.<) but I cant get the new races to appear in the character creation the Mystic Elf one seemed to work (although the Ren hairstyles showed up as no hair....) but I can't for the life of me figure out why cute elf or corean don't work. I copied the files to the correct place, and I made sure to load the .esp files in the launcher. I even tried using the cute elf omod version with obmm and no dice. Currently I have cuteElf11corean racekt custom race fixtff fantasy figures races base all set up (I unset rens beauty pack, but when it was set up the mystic elf race was selectable, although the hairstyles were not) the tff fantasy figures works fine, I checked with an older save-file.. Any sort of advice (except maybe bad advice) would be appreciated!
dezdimona
put Rens last in your load order, see if that corrects the problem
lwbastion
When I open the launcher and select Data Files it puts them in Alphabetical Order, so how can I be sure what the load order is? Or to modify it, for that matter?
Sin911
Open up the Construction Set and hit the open folder. You will be presented with a list of all your mods in the order they will load in. If you want something to load last then click on it and click 'Set as Active File' now hit 'OK'. After it loads, which may take a bit, hit save. Since it is the last mod modified it will be moved to the end of the list.
lwbastion
After installing the construction set, I see what you mean, and if I continue to have trouble after my reinstall I'll try that to see if it fixes rens beauty pack. Still no idea what to do about cute elf or corean
Sin911
I don't use any of those races, so I can't tell you for sure. However, having a single mod loading out of order can affect multiple mods. It may be possible that by loading Rens last, as Dezdimona suggests, it may hopefully fix everything. If not, let us know and someone here will happily give you additional help :)
bben46
The easiest way to manage load order is with OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) available here:http://timeslip.chorrol.com/obmm.html There are a lot more features in OBMM start with the load order and only try the others as you find you need them.
