Deleted4363562User
Hi, guys I'm translating NVEC Complete + NVCE into Spanish, a mind-boggling amount of work. So I set out to utilize some translation-help features of FNVEdit, specifically the Dictionary-Compilation. Basically, if you don't already know, you need the original esm or esp file (in English most likely) and then the translated copy renamed so that they can sit by each other in the Data folder and be read by FNVEdit. I did this with the FalloutNV.esm's for the English and Spanish versions of the game to compile a base dictionary. I then did likwise with the official DLC, as well as a few Spanish translations of a few mods that are integrated into NVEC already. The problem I'm having seems to be that this is not a "bug-free" text replacer. Between Editor ID changes and other things, I think a few text lines get replaced with something completely bogus. Take a look at the line below: http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i352/alloutwillie/Sintiacutetulo.png It says in English "I understand you have inforamtion about the child abductions." Then during the FNVEdit translation process a crazy response line got added that says in Spanish "The last mission was a success." which obviously makes no sense. I would just delete this line and move on, but it isn't that simple. If you take a closer look at the edit response window, it says that the text is way over the alotted amount. I can see the additional text in the previous window that shows all the responses, but in that window it appears to be attached to this text line here, and should appear here...but it doesn't. Thus I cannot delete it and move on. So...my question is how the hell do I delete that line?
Quetzlsacatanango
GECK has an export/import dialog feature. Seems like it would be easier to export it, translate it, import it.
Deleted4363562User
Ok. Wow. I think this will work. I'm glad I posted on here. That's going to be really useful for me later. It should also allow me to correct the issue I'm having. Thank you. GECK has an export/import dialog feature. Seems like it would be easier to export it, translate it, import it. Deleted4363562User
Well, I exported it to my desktop, used notepad to delete the "ghost text" and translate the line. I imported back into the GECK, and there was no change made. I'm not sure what I did wrong.
Deleted4363562User
Ok. Not sure why, but it worked this time on the second go around. Thanks again.
