Eiade
Thank you, Peregrine, for giving a righteous 'no, bad boy' to such an ill-sourced and stubborn post. nzdbox, you can't possibly tell us that Fahrenheit 9/11 is a reliable source of information. Michael Moore doesn't nessecarily lie, but he doesn't nessecarily tell the truth, either. He gives what we like to call 'half-truths.' He only tells one side of the story. Also, many of his points are based on things that might possibly have happened, not solid fact (such as the Bush family and friends rigging the elections). Look, I'm a democrat too (a moderate democrat). But you can't just believe what you want to believe, instead of what is the full truth.
surian
Peregrine, I agree with you that Moore's film is propaganda. I've watched it several times and I'm convinced that while a lot of his information is based on fact, his conclusions are speculation at best. However, as far as the elections being rigged in 2000, I won't go so far as to say they were "rigged" but it is an undeniable fact that tens of thousands of black voters were unable to vote in the election that year because they were listed as convicted fellons by the state of florida. African American's as we all know almost always vote democratic on the election (by an enormous majority). Bush won the election in 2000 by 537 votes in florida and had those people been allowed to vote there would have been little question as to whom had won the election (and it wouldn't have been Bush). Then you have to do a little digging to find out that the people who were in charge of the list that was used for convicted fellons (the one that "mistakenly" listed almost 30 thousand black voters as fellons) was commissioned by Jeb Bush (which is completely normal because the governer is supposed to do that) but the company was told by Jeb Bush not to double check their figures even after they told the Governer that by doing that there would be massive amounts of voters who would be listed as fellons mistakenly. They were then paid a large amount of money by the governer and the matter was laid to rest. Bush then won the election in florida. Now, what's really interesting here is that subsequent investigations showed that you were 80% more likely to be mistakenly listed a fellon if you were african american than if you were white. This, of course, could all be a big coincedence and bad planning but there is enough there to start some pretty convincing accusations against Jeb Bush and then G.W. Bush by association. I personally won't go that far because the evidence is not overwhelming but it is clear that the election would have turned out differently if this had not happened. Oh and by the way, the same company that compiled said fellon list in 2000 is doing it again for florida this election year.
NinjaSalad
I have been trying for years to get some kind of web based Government forum running, somthing you could go to, inorder to discuss things just like this, but on a country wide scale, If all the people could literaly voise their opinions like this, ALOT would get done to better our countries, The government cannot ignore 35,000,000 people saying all on the same forum they don't like something! nzdbox
I won't even comment on the posts between this one and my last one, nor will I say anything about the results of the election. Know that I'm utterly, utterly disappointed, as is my whole family, as is my whole school, as are all my online friends, as is a forum (with more than 40 members) that I belong to.Great. Now we must see this smirking chimp on TV again.Ah well.

Eiade
All I have to say is that Bush better soon realize that he's under a lot of pressure, cause I'm keeping a close eye on him. If he messes up once, I'm just gonna blow up and die.
