Is it possible for loose esp files to be used in Vortex?

Hello,

I have this issue that an esp I created from Fo4edit that edits the weapon damage value but the issue is that Vortex won't read it on its own and needs an archive...which I have no idea how that would be done and I do apologize if this is a constant question. I also have tried putting it into a .rar file and it does activate and the plugins.txt reads it as active with the asterisk but no effect, but I'm guessing that without a proper archive, it's mostly a dud.

I also have one more question: Is it possible to run the esp without an archive on Vortex? I've never had this issue on the old NMM which is why I'm asking to see if I can or learn how to do it on my own.

Again, thank you for those who can help and for the time for doing so.

As 1ae0bfb8 said, if you just drag that esp to the Mods page, Vortex will offer to package it for you.

Ahh okay, thank you for confirming that.

The reason I am asking this is because when I go to activate the plugin, it doesn't take effect and no matter where I put it in the load order doesn't change things either. So I take it must be a conflict with a mod then.

For clarification, I made the weapon edit esp plugin from Fo4edit and when I went to go activate it, I would get the prompt of the archive missing but I would allow it to make it (but at the time I wasn't sure if it was working correctly) and it would show up all active but in game the changes would not take effect.

That's why I wanted to double check if it was a packaging issue first before I tried messing with my mods.

Once again, thank you for the answers.

You can confirm it installed correctly by looking at your Plugins tab. Make sure your new ESP is there and shows as Enabled.

Yeah it was working, it was that a mod that modified the gun sounds was stopping the changes for some reason. Thanks for the clarification and help.
