Combat System Overhaul

Let me first define combat overhaul. I am referring to a brand new take on skyrim's combat from damage delt by weapons to removal of the boring "hack n slash" aspect.

 

 

I am simply wondering:

 

1) Has this has been done before. . . ?

 

2) How difficult would it be to accomplish?

 

3) Is anyone else is equally bored with the chop chop chop style of play which is only interrupted by the occasional shout or spell?

 

4) Who in this community has the modding experience/drive to accomplish something of this magnitude?

It's very hard to change the core mechanism of the combat in Skyrim, that is, the hack and slash thing. Not because it's not possible, but it just doesn't seem right to change it to anything else.

Sure, I guess you could try to change it to what Witcher 2 has, but eventually you're going to get bored with it.

Why don't you try to suggest some ways to reformat it?

No, not the Witcher. . . that is still too HacknSlash for me. I have an original combat system that I'd like to implement just to see the reaction/how enjoyable it really is. Would you be willing to point me in the direction of some information regarding changing the "core mechanism of the combat?"

I think you might be interested in "Duke Patricks Archery and Heavy Weapon Combat" very heavy scripted and complex. And then there is "Zigurds brutal Combat" it had a really great combo mechanics potencial, but it seems that author has forbidden this mod. I wouls love to see it reborn.
