SebastianPye Posted August 10, 2013 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Ok so this could be a huge mod, almost like a new DLC. So, Ulfric won, Skyrim is now independent from the empire. Empire doesn't seem to mind much. How would the Thalmor react to this? INVASION of course! They simply decide that skyrim is too dangerous to leave to it's own devices and since the empire can't control it's "dog" anymore, they have to do something about it themselves. This time it's less complicated than the entanglement with the empire, because probably EVERYONE in skyrim would unite against the thalmor, even the few high elves living there. This is brutal war and about beating a hated enemy that wants to basically destroy everything you love. Add the option of being the bad guy, playing as Thalmor or some lowlife Thalmor-supporter. The mod could start with them arriving very quickly and unexpectedly, sacking and occupying Solitude. In the beginning Thalmor is very very strong and its mostly about surviving and saving what you can from the grim invaders, but as the mod progresses the winds of war change. I picture the Thalmor taking over half of Skyrim or more before they are finally halted in a big battle that will be remembered in Tamriel sagas forever and then they have to fight on the defensive. Kind of like the Stalingrad of the Thalmor. But it won't be easy! Perhaps Skyrim even has to bring in the Empire to save them. There could be political quests where you have to gain support somehow from other factions, like the dunmer who probably are more than happy to see nords getting killed at first, but when the invaders get closer to morrowind, maybe not so much... Whether its killing the emperor and making it look like the thalmor did it or by more peaceful means, skyrim can't take on the thalmor alone after they've been weakened by the civil war!
