Existing clothing and armor -- new variants

Hey fellas, so I've rolled in from playing Fallout 3 for the first time through, and I'm in my second playthrough right now. I'm pretty stoked about this game, it's a humongous relief to play a good RPG again, and I can't help but feel it has endless possibilities in terms of modification making.

Cutting to the point: Do you all think a large pack of multiple appearance reskins (on existing armor variants) as new items or ditto items, integrated in to the vanilla game, would be received well? And also, is doing what I've just described in the GECK particularly difficult? I have yet to figure that program out... but I haven't looked over any of the tutorials or instructions for it or any of the other FO3 editing software I've downloaded yet. I'd just like to know the difficulty level before I get too mired in trying to learn about modding this game... you know, just so I can pace myself and all that jazz.

linklinklink <- I released this mod for Knights of the Old Republic II about a year ago; it's very similar to the kind of mod I'd like to do for Fallout 3. Unfortunately my skills with manipulating KotOR can't really be translated to FO3, so I have to start from scratch in regards to figuring out how to implement the skins I make through adding merchants/NPCs/containers/whatever.

That's all. If you think you can help me, or have anything to say, definitely feel free to do it up. :)

oooh and I'm pretty new, and I might've put this in the wrong section. I don't think so, but if I did, I'm terribly sorry.

You should get in touch with the FOOK team. They've already got some retexes in their mod and yours would fit right in.

And no, it's not difficult - whether you set them up as new meshes or texture overrides. The GECK Wiki is your friend on that one.

I'll definitely check out the wiki, sooner rather than later hopefully. And I've seen some of the FOOK team's work, that'd be a good place to start.

thanks for the reply!
