Damn these old games are a pain, cops spawn and launch at you, NPC's your protecting die at the drop of a hat, cars blow up after a few hits and you don't have time to exit, completing missions is down to luck most of the time and they even removed infinite health cheat from SA just to make it a nightmare.

 

I have done modding in the past but wouldn't know where to start with these games.

You are correct. Someone should look into npc health, cops and enemie chase A.I as they are super aggressive. also the time it takes for a car to explode while trying to escape on fire seems way shorter than the old versions.

It seems damage to the player has increased with the faster frame rates, maybe some stuff is synced to frame rates rather than time, cops can corner like light cycles.
